Oble and P. H. Michaelson. as the above committee. tdoved by Johnson and seconded by Dickens that the Oounoil confirm the Mayors appointments.. Motion Carried. Hugh N. Caldwell appeared and asked the Council to permit w. M. Brooks to construct a service station on SW 70feet of Lots 22, 23 And 24, block 24, Original Townsite. Mr. Oeldwell also made formal application for permit to construct such service station. The application for the above permit being outside the fire limits, it was moved by Sandmeyer and seconded by Diokens that the Council set august 17th. 1931, at 8.00 P. M. as the date for hearing any protests to the above petition. Motion Carried. On motion of Dickens and seconded by Eeiater, the Council stood adjourned. UITY C er yo COUNCIL ORnMBERS, August 3, 1931 8:00 P. M The City Council met in regular seseion with Mayor, Fred L. Lilly, presiding'. On Roll Call, the following Councilmen answered present; M. S. Samdmeyer, C. E. Bales, E. L. Vassar, Joe Dickens and 0. M. Johnston. A. G. Keister was absent when the Roll wag called but came in later and was marked present. Mrs. Goo. Bartlett appeared and asked that the Special City taxes of Sprinkling and Weed Cutting{ be cancelled on Lots 13, 14 and 16, Block 102 Goandu Addition. Said taxes amounting to 0' 39.38. Moved by Vassar and seconded by Dickens that the matter be taken under advisement. R. E. Upgner. accompanied by his Attorney, Hugh N. Caldwell, appeared and took up with the Mayor and Council the matter of his aontreat of hauling the garbage from the City. i Omar Major appeared and asked that his 2J acres of land in Block 66, Mt. View Addi- tion on College Avenue be vacated as to the platting. Tom Cochrane , with a number of others, appeared and asked that if the Council granted the Petition to open and grade 6th. ®treat wee granted that:.6th. Street be also included in the work and that 6th. Street from Denver Street to Freeport be opened and graded. The Clerk read the minutes of July 7 and July 27. These Minutes were approved. A Petition, signed by 27 petitioners, was presented to open north 6th, Street from Albany Street to Elgin Street. Said Petition was referred to the Road Committee. The July bills were read and on motion made by Bales and seconded by Johnston these bills were allowed and warrants were ordered drawn for the various amounts, all of which had been approved by the Chairmen of the Finance Committee, as follows: GENERAL FUND.
