Council met in regular session persuant to adjournment of July 23, 1928, with
mayor Danlap presiding, and dounoilmen DAVIS, DUTION, HOFFMAN. JACXsON, MCCONNEL AND
MUMA'ORD, PRESENT. ABSENT: NONE.
This being the date set for opening bide for the construction of curbs and
gutters in Local Street Improvement District No. 8, the Clerk presented to the Council
the Affidavit of Publication of the notice of Receiving Rifle in Local Street Improvement
District No. 8, which affidavit was and is in words and figuree as follows, to -wit:

Is President of CALDWELL PRBLISHING COMPANY, publisher of The
Caldwell News- Tribune, a semi- weekly paiw6papal- published at'daldwell,
Idaho; that the said paper is in general circulation in the Bounty
aforesaid, and has been for a period of 78 weeks proceeding first
publicatioh of this advertisement, a copy of which it attached
hereto, and was published in the regular edition of The deldwell
News - Tribune 3 consecutive weeks beginning with the issue of July
6th, 1928, and ending with the issue of July 19, 1928.

Thereupon it was moved by Roffman, seconded by Jackson, that the Clerk be in-
struoted to insert said Affidavit of fablioation as a part of the minutes of this meeting.
Motion carried. Thereupon it was moved by Modonnel, duly seconded by Hoffman, that the
Clerk proceed to open the bids for the construction of curbs and gutters in Local Street
Improvement District No. 8. Motion carried. whereupon the following bids were opened
and read by the Clerk:
J.-H. Forbes, "aldwell, Idaho, Payable in dash only 09,966.00
uabbey & McNeil, noise, Idaho, Payable in Cash only 12,063.25
3$aed- Terry, ®aldwell, Idaho, Payable in dash only, 10.847.50
emeed- Terry, Caldwell, Idaho, Payable in Bonds 12,047.50
Thereupon it was moved by Hoffman, seconded by Jackson, that all of the bids
for the construction of curbs and gutters in Local Street Improvement bletriot No. 8, by
taken under consideration by the Uounoil, and that the same be made a special order of
business before the opunoil at a meeting to be held on Friday, August 3, 1928, at 8300
o'clock P. M.. Motion carried.
Councilman Hoffman stated that Peckham Furiniture Oo. wanted permission to ;
install an Electric Washing Machine at t #e Tourist nark. The same to be paid for by
charging a fee for its use, and when fully paid for to become the property of the City.
The price of the 'Noshing Machine to be $175.00. The matter was taken under consideration
Attorney Eustace reported that the Oregon Short Line Railroad Oompany officals
wished to meet with with the Mayor and uounoil Monday August,3, 1928, to consider the
improvement to be made along the right- ofwwpy on Avon Street, as proposed in Local Street
Improvement District No. S. The meeting was agreeable to the Mayor and Council.
A petition was presented asking for a street light to be installed on the corner
of Blain and Twenty -first Streetep The same being signed by six residents in that vs-
oinity. It was voted on motion of Rumford, seconded by Jackson, that the matter be re-
ferred to the.Street 8ommittee with power to act.

It was voted on motion of Dutton, seconded by Mumford, that dounoil adjourn to
Friday, August 3, 1928, at 6 :00, P. M.

Ooanail met in regular session pereuast to adjournment of July 30, 1928, with
mayor Dunlap presiding and Aaunoilmen DUTTON, HOFFMAN, JACKSON, MCCONM AND MUMPORD
present. ABSENT: DAVIS.
The katter of Peckham Furniture So. installing an electric washer at Tourist
Park came to the attention of the dounoil. The price being 4175.00, to be paid for by
a service charge for use of washer. When a sufficient amount has been collected to pay
for same to become the property of the city. It was agreed'-to install the machine on a
trial of thirty days.
B. W. Smith appeared before the Council asking that the irrigation ditch on
Third and Belmont Streets be changed. The matter was referred to Dutton and MoOonnel to
investigate and report to the dounoil.
It was voted on motion of Dutton, seconded by Hoffman, that the bill as approved
be allowed and warrants ordered drawn on the various funds, to -wit:
