The Council met p +tea., ^t - *� prh?.i ^` nd n� *i -r_e and aolmowledgment of notice in the following form: CALL AND ACRNOWLEDG ?XEENT OF NOTICE We, the undersigned, Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, do each hereby Rolm owe ledge notice of a speciAl meeting of said City Council to be held at the council chambers in the City Hall in the City of Caldwell, Idaho, at the hour of 8 :00 o'clock P. TT., on the 26th, day of July, 1945 for the transaction of all business In connection with the following object: pursuant to published notice for public hearing on Bill No 5, extention of "B" residence zone, which object has been submitted to each of the un undersigned in writing. Crookham, Jr., and Councilmen, J. R, Sloop and I.eo J. Mason. In the absence of the m the president of the Council presided. The President of the Council informed the Council this was the date set for public hearing on the proposed alteration of the bo *indaries of "B" Residence Zone. The following report was presented to the Mayor and Council by the BOARD OF ADjUSTbRFNT : TO THE HONORABLE MAYOPt AYD CITY COUNCIL July 24, 1945. We the undersigned memberezv of the Board of Adjustment of the City of Caldwell recommend that Block (11) ^Leven Fair Acres be placed in the (B) Residence zone. Signed Ancil H. Steunenberg, T. W. The President rf the Co� asked if there was any one present that desired t9 bo heard on the matter of the proposed alteration of the boundaries of "B" Residence Zone. There was no one present to speak for or against the proposed 6iteration`of "B" Residence Zone. This being the time set for the third reading of Bill No 5, the Vsyor directed the Clerk to road Bill No 5 in full section by section. The Clerk read the Bill as directed. The question being "Shall Bill No 5, pass? The Mayor directed the Cler k to call the roll-on the above question which resulted as follows: Those voting in the affirmative were: Olea®p, Burrell, Thornock and McNeill. Negative: None. Absent and not voting: Sloop and Mason. Thereupon the Mayor declared Bill iTo 5, had passed and the Mayor in open session Of the Council duly signed and attested the some which became Ordinance No 642. The Mayor directed the Clerk to make proper entry of the same and to cause Ordinance No 642, to be published in the Caldrell Newa- Tribune the official newspaper of the City of Cald- well, Idaho . Gouncilmap 0lesen, Chairman of the Water Department presented a list of un- i collectable water accounts and requested they be charged off the water ledger. The Ro�ul.ar Monthly Meeetjng of the City Council met in the Council Rooms of the City Hall, with the President of the Council, Pete Olesen presiding. On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present; J. R. Sloop, Pete Olesen, Leo J. Mason, L. P. Burrell, 0. 1.. Thornock and R. V , Mc*Ieill. Absent: mayor G. L. Crookham, Jr., The ^^mutes Tuly 2nd, 7th, 16th, and 26th, were read and approved as read. RESOLUTION. By Councilmen Thornock. CLEVE GROOME,attorney at law of Caldwell, Idaho, appeared before the Mayor and Council on behalf of Grace E. Smythe and petitioned the Council in writing for the can- cellation of city water maintenance and sprinkling and road taxes on Lots 1 and 2 and Lots 13 to 24, Hlock 38, Dorman's Addition to the City, and the Mayor and Council having duly considered the ssme, the following preamble and resolution was presented by Councilman Thornock, who moved the adoptin- of the same, which motion was duly seconded by Councilman) Burrell. "WHEREAS, there are assessments for irrigation water against the said property for the.years 1942 to 1945, Inclusive, in a total sum of $183.05, and there are assess - menta against the said property for street sprinkling and maintenance from the year 1927 to the year 1944 on Lots 1 and 2 and for the year 1929 to the year 1944, with exception of the 1937, 1938, 1939 and 1940, on Lots 13 to 24, inclusive, in said Block 38, making a tonal of §161.76; now, therdfore " BE IT HESOLVED, that upon the payment to the Treasurer of the City of Caldwell of one -half of the said several sums above mentioned by the said Grace E. Smythe, the Treasurer of the City of C91drell be, and he is hereby, aut "orized and directed to cancel the remainder of said taxes and assessments for irrigation and for ma'ntenance on streets,)
