NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Cadd-
well be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute said contract on behalf of
the City of Caldwell, duly attested by the seal thereof,
A yea and nay vote was had thereon with the foll result:
Yea: Oakes, Mumford, Fenrich, Boynton and Babcock,
Nay: None:

Moved by Boynton, seconded by Babcock that Council adjourn to meet July 26th.

The City Council met pursuant to a published notice for the purpose of consider-
ing protests to the proposed Financial Budget of the City for the year 1937 -38, with the
` Mayor, W. R. Hollingsworth presiding.
On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present; F. D, Mumford, W, S.
Boynton, W. E. Babcock, G. M. Fenrich and Norvil T. Hinds, Absent: Edgar L, Oakes,
This being the date set for hearing protests against the proposed estimate of
expehditures of the City of Caldwell for the fiscal year beginning the first day of May
1937. The said estimate and tax levy being in excess of 10 mills for general purposes.
The Clerk presented the affidavit of publication of said motion which is in words
and figures as follows;

The Mayor asked if there was anyone present that desired to be heard on the matte
f the Proposed estimate and tax levy. Therewas no one to speak either for of against the
roposed estimate.
Thereupon Councilman Mumford, introduced Bill No. 5, Proposed Ordinance No. 547,

CITY OF CALDWELL, IDAHO, NOT OTRERNIISE PROVIDED FOR, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING MAY L,
1957 PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 49 -1102 AND SECTION 49 -1716, IDAHO CODE AN-
NOTATED POR 1932.
which was read "fbr"the first "time and the Council proceeded to'a consideration'of Bill No.!
5, It moved by Babcock, seconded by Hinds that the rules requiring that the reading of
a Bill on three separate days be suspended and that Bill No. 5, be read the second time by
title and the third time in full, section by section and placed on its fina 1 passage.
The Mayor directed the Clerk to call the roll on the motion with the following result:
Those voting in the affirmative were Mumford, Boynton, Babeoblc, Fenrich and Hinds,
Negative: None, A bsent and not voting: Oakes. The Mayor declared the motion had passee
by the necessary three - fourths ma*ority and directed the Clerk to read Bill No, 5 the
second time by title and the third time in full, section b The Clerk read the
Bill as directed. The question then being "Shall Bill No. 5, pass? The Mayor directed
the Clerk tocall the roll on the above question which resulted as follows: Those voting
in the affirmative were: Mumford, Boynton, Fenrlah, Babcock and'.Hinds, Negative; None.
Absent and not voting: flakes. Thereupon, the Mayor declared Bill No. 5, ✓and the Mayor in
open session of the Council duly signed and approved the Bill, and the Clerk duly signed
and attested the same which became Ordinance No. 547, The Mayor directed the Clerk to make
proper entry of the same and to cause Ordinance No, 547, to be published in the Caldwell
News - Tribune, the official newspaper of the City of Caldwell, Idaho,
Whereupon following preamble and resnlution was presented by Fenrich who
moved the adoption thereof, which motion was seconded by Councilman Boynton,
Resolution,

=FEAS, it appears to the best interest of the City that the resignation of
two of the police force should be had,
NOW TITFRMFORE,be it resolved, that the ITR70r and the Chief of the Police De-
partment be and they are hereby authorized to call for the resignation of such policeman
upon thirty days notice to said policeman and that new policemen be selected and appointed
in their place as soon as can be done and that such of said policemen who have not yet had
their annual vacation be allowed to take the same in the meantime.
A yea and nay vote was had thereon with the following result:
Yea : Mumford, Fenrich, Boynton, Babcock and Hinds.
Nay: None.
Absent and not voting: Oakes.
Whereupon the Mayor declared th motion carried and the preamble and resolution
duly adopted.
There being no further business to come before the Council it was moved by
Boynton, seconded by %uTU ord that Council adirn?rn.l- Motionearried.
