22, 24, 25, and 28 of Fair Acres Addition, as the same is shown on the official plat
thereof now on file and of record in the office of the Recorder of Canyon County,
Idaho, to the East corner of Lot 7 of said Block 22; thence Northwesterly along the
Northeasterly boundary line of said Lot 7 and the Northeasterly boundary line of said
Lot 7 extended, to the South corner of Lot 15 of said Block 22, thence Northeasterly
along the Southeasterly boundary line of Lots 15, 16, and 17 of said Block 22 to the
East corner of said Lot 17; thence Northwesterly along the Northeasterly boundary I
line of said Lot 17 and the Northeasterly boundary line of said Lot 17 extended, to
a noint which is 25 feet East and at right angles to the West boundary line of Lot
23 of said Fair Acres Addition; thence South and parallel to the West boundary line
of Lot 23 and Lot 21 of said Fair Acres Addition, to the point of beginning, con-
taining 5.1 acres.

person to the transfer of said property to the State of Idaho.
That thereafter, the Council by unanimous vote, upon motion duly made and seconded, approved
transfer e

of Idaho, and the United States, and it was further determined that said property was not needed for any
other municipal purpose, and that no persons are damaged by the transfer of said property to the State of

NOW, THEREFOE, BE IT RESOLVED, That an undivided one -half interest in the within- described real !
property be transferred to the State of Idaho, and that the Mayor and Citv Clerk, in the name of, and on
behalf of, the City of Caldwell, be authorised to execute and deliver to the State of Idaho, adeed of the
City conveying said property to the State of Idaho.

Negative: None. Absent and not voting: Shorb.
Thereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried and the Resolution adopted.
Bob Purcell, Secretary- Treasurer of the C Chamber of Commerce discussed Xmas decorations

for the City and requested the Council to include in the budget sufficient funds to cover re- wiring for
Xmas lighting.
There being no further business to come before the Council it was moved by Councilman Smith,i
seconded by :Councilman Eldredge that Council recess to meet July 18th, 1960. Motion carried.

� Oral Kraus and Dorothy Kraus, husband and wife of Caldwell, Idaho, are herein and

hereby presenting a claim to the city Of Caldi. -roll, Canyon County, Idaho, for
damages to a 1969 Mercury Sedan, 1960 Idaho License A2/c2784, driven by Dorothy
Kraus, damgged in a collision accident on July 1, 1960, at 2:45 P. M. at 4th
and Main Streets, in the City of Caldwell, Canyon County, Idaho, with a 2 -Ton
Dodge Dumn'Track Licensed by the City of Caldwell, Canyon County, Idaho, j0556
1960 Idaho plate.
That the dam resulting to the 1969 Mercury sedan belonging to Oral
Kraus and Dorothy Kraus by reason of this collision, placed the said Mercury
Sedan beyond repair economically, according to the tow estimates of repair
prepared,one by Garber Motor Company of Caldwell, Idaho, the other by Burns
Chevrolet Comnant of Caldwell, Idaho, both of w'1ch are attached hereto.
That this claim by Oral and Dorothy Kraus for damages is for the reasonable
market value of thesaid 19h9 Mercury Sedan, before the collision damage, whidh
the claimants believe to be Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars (8250.00).

Lewellen Insurance Agency.
Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried,

these Bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn for the various amounts, all of which have been approved
by the Finance Committee. Motion carried,

The Council proceeded to study the 1960 -1961 Budget.

It was unanimously agreed Recreation salaries remain the same.
Lighting Mill Levy
Moved by Councilman Eldredge, seconded by Councilman Finley the Street Lighting mill levy be
increased one mill.
Unon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried.
Idaho Power Franchise Tax
Moved by Councilman Eldredge, seconded by Councilman Vassar the City Attorney be instructed to
investigate the possibilities of collecting a franchise tax from the Idaho Power Co.
Unor Roll Call i t appeared the motion was 1.unanimously carried.
Public Works Sl.iparvisior
Moved by Councilman Eldredge, seconded by Councilman Vassar the City Engineer be appointed
Public Works Supervisor with an increase of $25.00 per month in salary and the City Attorney be instructed
to prepare the necessary papers to put this into effect.
Upon Roll Call it apneared the motion was unanimously carried.

Thereupon Councilman Vassar presented the following, Resolution and moved the adoption thereof,
which motion was duly seconded by Councilman Eldredge.
9E IT RESOLVED, That the following is an estimate of theexnenditures of the City of Caldwell for
the fiscal year 1960 -1961, and that the following be, and is hereby adopted, and the following is an amount
of money necessary for all purposes to be raised by taxation in the City of Caldwell during the fiscal year
beginning May 1, 1960, including principal and interest due on bonded indebtedness and sinking funds.

FALL IN CALDWML, IDAHO, FOR THE PURPOSE OF GRANTING APUBLIC HEAPING PURSUANT.TO SECTION'S 50 -1917, IDAHO
CODE, BEFORE THENPP OPRIATION BILL PROVIDED FOR IN SAID S SHALL BE PASSED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CALDWELL, IDAHO; A COPY OF THE ESTIMATE OF THE PROPOSED APPROPRIATION BEING FULLY SET FORTH AT
LENGTH UPON THE MINUTES OF 'A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CALDidELL, IDAHO, HELD
ON JULY 18th, 1960: THE SAID LEVY POU GENERAL L - ,VJ PURPOSES BEING IN EXCESS OF TVJ MILLS.
WHEREAS, at a snecial meeting of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Caldwell, Ida' o, held
on the 18th day of July, 1960 an estimate of probable maount of money necessary for all purposes to be
raised in the City of Caldwell, Idaho, during the fiscal year beginning May 1, 1960, and ending April 30,
1961, including principal and interest due on the bonded debt and sinking fund, itemizing and classifying
the differect objects and branches of expenditures as near as may be, with the statement of the entire
revenue of said city for the previous fiscal year, was submitted to the said Mayor and City Council by the
Finance Committee and which said estimate was entered at length upon the minutes of said meeting of the
Mayor and the City Council; and
WHF.R?AS, said Mayor and City Ceancil desire that pm per resolution be drawn granting and fixing
the time for a nnblic meeting for hearing protests against said proposed appropriation bill and give due
notice thereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, B7 IT RESOLVED By the Mayor and City Council of Caldwell, Idaho:
Section 1. That the Mayor and City Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho have determined that
it will require a tax levy for general revenue purposes in excess of ten mills to raise sufficient money
for general nur as provided by law for the fiscal year beginning May 1, 1960, and ending April 30, 1961
and as is more fully shown by the estimate of expenditure of the City of Caldwell, Idaho.
Section 2. That before the passage ofsaid appropriation bill and before said levy be ma a
nublic hearing be granted, and that said public hearing upon said estimate and proposed appropriation bill
is hereby called and ordered to be held at the City Hall of said City at the hour of 81.00 o'clock P. M. on
the 29th day of July, 1960.
Section 3. That notice of said meeting and pullic hearing ,hall be given by at least two Pub-
lications in the News - Tribune, a daily newspaper printed and nublished in the City of Caldwell, Idaho,
which said notice shall be printed in the Thursday issues thereof on July 21 and July 28, 19 which said
notice shall be in substantially the following form:
"NOTICE OF MEETING AND PUBLIC HEARING OF THE PROP03ED ESTIMATED EXPENSES OF THE CITY OF
CALDWELL, IDAHO, FOR THE FISCAL YtAR BEGINNING MAY 1, 1960; SAID ESTIMATED AND TAY LEVY
FOR GENERAL PURPOSES BEINI, IN EXCESS OF TEN MILLS."
The Cite Council and Mayor of the City of Caldwell, Canyon County, Idaho, having
determined at a meeting duly and regularly called and held in the City of Caldwell, Idaho.
on the 18th day of July, 1960, that said City will require a tax levy for general purposes,
as provided by law, for the fiscal year beginning May 1, 1960, and as "ully set out in the
estimate of expenditures �f the City of Calder -11 Idaho, for the fiscal year beginning May

and Council having determined at said meeting that it will be necessary to pass an ap —

for said fiscal year.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: That a public meeting and hearing is hereby granted on said
appropriation bill to be held at the City Hall in the City of Caldwell, Canyon County,
'. Idaho, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. on the 29th day of July, 1960.
For further detailed information concerning the said proposed appropriation bill, reference
is hereby made to the said estimate of expenditures hereinabove referred to and fullyset
forth in the minutes of the Mayor and Council of said City on the 18th day of July, 1960.
