This being the date net for hearing protests against the proposed estimate of expenditures of the City of Caldwell for the fiscal year. beginningthe first Tuesday in May, 1929 and ending the First Tuesday'in May, 1930; the said estimate and tax Sayy being' in excess of ten mills for general purposes. There was no one to speak either for or againet the proposed estimate.. The Mayor and Council took the matter of proposed eati- e and tax levy under consideration. It woe voted on motion of Dickens, seoonded by Leighty, that the City Attorney be instructed to draw an ordinance changing parking in the business district and to'pro- hibit tracks foam parking on Main gtreat from Sixth to Ninth Avenues and on Kimball Avenue from the Railroad Hight -ofWay to Blain street. The Mayor appointed L. M. Porter, City Engineer. It W86 voted on motion of Johns, seoondp8 by Leighty, that the appointment of L. M. Porter as City Engineer be oonfirmed. . The Mayor appointed Frank E. X"k, City Attorney, to take affect August 1, 1929. It was voted on motion of Dickens. seconded by Leighty, that the appointment of Frank E. H. Hedway appeared before the Mayor and Council asking for permission to construct an ironclad building on lots 11 and 12; block 89, Original Townsite, to be - used by A. D. Grimes and Hogs Rice for peaking and shipping purposes, which proposed building being in the fire limits. It was voted on motion of Dickens, seconded by Johns, that the City Attorney be i etruoted to draw an ordinance amending the Building Ordinance permitting certain . kiof temporary buildings to be erected within the fire limits. Jim Walters appeared before the Mayor and dounail asking permissida to erect a fruit stand at 916 Clevelamd. The matter was referred to the Building Inipeater. RESOLUTION N0, 6, BY DICKENS, was presented as follows: "WHEREAS, On the 17th day of August, 1928, the City of Caldwell. issued call for bids for the.0oa4tra4tiOn of certain improvements within Local Improvement District NO. 8 of said City, and "WHEREAS. J. H. Forbes was the successful bidded, and "WHEREAS. The contract for construction of said improvements was awarded to said J. H.
