The librarians report for June was read and, on motion of Zeh, approved and
ordered filed.
Bill No 22, by Zeh, entitled, "An- Ordinance granting to the Oregon Short Line
Railway company a franchise to construct and maintain a railroad track for switching
and other purposes on and over a certain alley in the City of m aldwell, Idaho ", was
read the first time.
Aemotion was made by Zeh that the rules be suspended and the readings on
three separate days be suspended and the- readings -eq that Bill No 22 be read the
second time by title and the third time in full and placed on its final passage.
The roll being called on the motion, the vote reeultedi
Ayes- Adam, Bardeley, Steuenberg, Walker, Zeh- 5.
Nays- Adams
Absent- None So the motion prevailed.
Bill No. 22 read second time by title. Bill No. 22 read third time in full
and placed on its final passage. On the question, Shall Bill No. 22 pass? The roll
being called the vote resultedc
Ayes- Adam, Bardeley, Steunenberg, Walker, Zeh -5.
Nays- Adams;
¢bsent- None. So Bill No. 22 passed, becoming, Ordinance No 217.
Bill No. 23, by Bardeley, entitled, "An Ordinance declaring the intention
of the City of Caldwell to establish within its limits three sprinkling improvements
districts to be known as Local Sprinkling Improvement District No. 1, Local Sprink-
ling District No 2, and Local Sprinkling District No. 3, and declaring the intention
of the said City to sprinkle certain streets, alleys and avenues and parts thereof
named and providing for special assessment to belsvied against the property abutting
Oereon and for collection thereof." was read the first time.
A motion was made by Adams that the rules be suspended and the readings on
three separate days be dispensed with and that Bill No. 23 be read the second time
by title and the third time in full and placed on its final passage. The roll being
called on the motion the vote resultedc
Ayes- Adam , Adams, Bardeley, Steunenberg, Walker, Zeh -6.
Nays- None, Absent- None. So the motion prevailed.

Hays and absent- None. So Bill No. 23 passed, becoming Ordinance No. 218.
The Mayor appointed the street committee to act as sprinkling committee.
Certain citizens dieiroue of having opened up Linden street east petitioned
the city council to approve the following agreements
" WEMIR.AS it is desired to construct a bridge ever Indian Creak on Linden street
And whereas, the people desire to give the labor required and estimated at 500 cubic
yards, at a cost of $150 and the City of Caldwell has agreed to give the material con -
elating of 13 piles and 4, 000 feet B. M. of lumber at a total cost of not to exceed
the sum of $275 and about 10 yards of lava rock for rip rap."
Voted, on motion of Adam, that the petition be approved, provided the street be
graded two miles.
Voted, on motion of Walker, that the sidewalk ordered constructed by sidewalk:
resolution 1 and not constructed be advertised and constructed by the city, sealed bids
to be opened Monday, August 5, 1912.
Voted, on motion of Zeh, that all balances remaining in the general, road, park,
cemetery, and water works funds at the close of the last fiscal year be transferred to
the warrant redemption fund.

Voted, on motion of Bardeley, that warrants t-0/sum of #900 be drawn on the libraq
fund for balance of purchase price of library site, and that warrants to the amount of
$600 be drawn on the general fund for the purchase of a dump ground, in favor of chair-
man of the finance committee.
Voted, on motion of Steunenberg, a warrant be drawn to pay balance of P.I.D.

Voted, on motion of Walker, that Council adjourn until Monday, du.ly229, 1912,
at 8 p.m.
