HomeMy WebLinkAbout1944-07-10city council minutesM WHEREAS, that certain "Airport Agreement" dated August 23, 1943, between the Ci Caldwell, a a p of the first part and Mock S. Johnston, as party of the second part, which lease was thereafter assigned to Jack Medlin; and WHEREAS, the terms of saidegreement have been violated and broken and the City desires to terminate said lease and to obtain possession of the property covered thereby; NOW THEREFORE, FT IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell that Such legal action -as asy be necessary to cancel aril terminate said Iease and to obtain possession of the premises I)overed thereby be and the same hereby is authorized; and the City Attorney of the City. of Caldwell is hereby authorized and directed to t ake such legal steps as may be -e cessary and proper and to file such action as may be necessary and pro per J to terminate and cancel said lease and to obtain possession of the promises covered by said lease. Whereupon it was moved by Councilman McNeill, a econded by Councilman Fraskmer, that said R be adopted. Motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Council it was moved by Sloop, seconded by Thornock that Council adjourn. Motion carried. 42 d_ City Clerk. COUNCIL CHAMBERS, JIFLY 10th., 1944, 8;00 P.M. Mayor. The Council met on Call of the Mayor with t'he Mayor, Thnrlow Bryant presiding. on Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present; J. Randall Sloop, Pete Sen., F. E. Newman, R. H. McNeill; 0. L. Thornock and E. E. Fresher. - The Mayor informed the Council the meeting was called to take up new and un- ished business; Mr. Harold Engel, representing the Junior Chamber of Commerce was present apd cussed the plan for a Mfnorial ?lack bearing the names of Caldwell Boys - Moved by Thornock, seconded by Sloop that the City contribute $$So, toward this work The Mayor appointed Councilmen Newman to/with the Junior Chamber of Commsroe on la matter. Miss Joyce Whitmore was present and requested better guardservice at the Airport. This matter was discussed by the Council and left on the table. Moved Fresher, seconded by Olesen that Council adjourn to meet July, 11th., 144, -at 8;00 orolock P. M. in the Council Rooms of the City Hall. Motion carried. Mayor. City Clerk.
