The Clark read a letter from S. D. German under date of June 25, 1928, asking
that the city wsive all interest and penalties on special tax assessments levied against
Lots 22, 23 and 24, Block 102, Goando Addition to Caldwell, Idaho, providing the payment
of the original assessment was made.
It was voted on motion of Mumford, seconded by Jackson, that the.:r8kuee$
granted.
It was voted on motion of Jackson, seconded by Hoffman, that Oounoil adjourn
to July 9, 1928, at 8:00 P. M.

Council met in regular sessiog persuant to adjournment of July 2, 1928, with
Mayor Dunlap presiding and Gouncilmen DAVIS, DUTTON, HOFFMAN, JACKSON, MCCONNED AND
MUMDORD , PRESENT. ABSENT: NONE.
This being the'date set for hearing protests against the proposed estimate of
expenditures of the City of Caldwell for the fiscal year beginning the first Tuesday in
May, 1928, and adding the First Tuesday in May, 1929; the said estimate and tax
levy for general purposes being in excess of ten mills.
The Olerk presented the affidavit of publication of said notice which are in
words and figures ae follows:

foreman of Caldwell Rtbliahing Oompany , of the Caldwell News- Tribune, a
semi- weekly newspaper published at Caldwell, Idaho; that the said paper is in gen-
eral circulation in the Oounoty aforesaid, and has been for a period of 78 weeks
proceeding first publication of this advertisement, a copy of whioll is ksasts attooh-
ed hereto., and was published in the regular edition of The Caldwell News - Tribune,
three consecutive weeks beginning with the issue of June 7, 1928, and ending with
the issue of June 21, 1928.

The Mayor asked 14 there was any one present that desired to heard in the
matter of the proposed estimate and tax levy. There was no one present that spoke either
for or against the matter. The Mayor and 900neil took the matter of levy under further
oonaideration.
B. L. Shaw, representing the Chamber of Commerce and Capt. 0. V. Martin, rep-
resenting the Gavelery Troop spoke in favor of the item in the Apropriation Bill to main..
tain a Gavelery Band.
It was voted on motion of MoOonnel, seconded by Hoffman, that the following
bills as approved be allowed and warrant ordered drawn on the various funds, to -wit:
