Bill No. 22 by Councilman Iitchell, entitled, "An ordinance amending section 5 of Ordinance No. 292 of the City of Caldwell. Idaho, entitled, 'An ordinance amending sections 7, 8, 15, 18, 26, 29, 30, 40, 42, 59, 63 and 64 of Ordinance lie. 267 of the City of Caldwell, Idaho,' approved by the i of said City on tho 21st day of January, 1918," was read the first time. Applicetion for raises in s;.Inry. Application of Assistant Engineer Fire Lepax•tment for raise in salary was read. Councilman W. Grant Word announced that the Supt of 'dater :7orks had made application for raise in salary to sum of $115.00 per month. It was voted on motion of Councilman Amos J. Uiller, seconded Councilman Sanberg that the Idayor appoint a committee to investigate the matter of salaries of City employees and report back to the City Council. The Mayor appointed Councilmen V'd. Grant Ward, Amos J. Willer and F. ii. Miller. i{eadin ":id . June i•eijort Cit;r Treasurer. The report of the City Treasurer for the month of June, 1918, was read and upon motion of Councilman F. R. Miller was approved and ordered placed on file. Following is the estimate prepared by the City Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, of the probable amount of money necessary for all purposes to be raised by taxation in the said City during the fiscal year beginning the first Tuesday in May, 1918, in- cluding the principal and interest due on the bonded debt and sinking funds, itemizing and classifying the several branches of expenditures as nearly as may be, with a statement of the entire revenue of the City for the previous year. R. Miller, seconded Councilman Sanberg, that the Estimate of Expenses as prepared by the City Council be ratified, approved and confirmed and that the City Clerk be and he hereby is instructed to have the abme published as reauired by law. The roll being called on the motion the vote resulted: Ayes -Amos J. Miller, F. R. Miller, Mitchell, Sanberg, lard -5. Idayes -Hone. Abeent- Dickens -1. The Mayor declared the motion carried. Dear Sir: You will please aIll a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Caldwell, to convene in the regular Council Chambers in the City Hall, Thursday July 18th., 1)18, at 9 o'clock P. M. for the purpose of discussing the matter of installing a municipal plunge, and if deemed advisable to provide for the necessary expenses incident thereto and for the further purpose of devising plane for the operation and maintainence of the same.
