It was voted upon motion of Ackley that Council adorn until Wednesday
evening July 8th.1914.

Council most in regular session pursuant to adornment with Mayor O.H.Turner
- presiding, 0ounoilmen- Ackley,Adame,Boone.Harrington and Steunenbarg present
S.Ben Dunlap Olerk,when the following business was transacted; --
The reports of the following officers for the month of Juns,1914 were read,
City Olerk.Police Judge,City Treasurer.Clty Enginear,Boad Oommissioner,Water
Commissioner and Sexton.The Annual report of the City Librarian for the year
ending July let.1914 and the Semi - annual, report of the Fire Department for
the term ending June 30th.,1914 were also read. It was voted upon motion
of Harrington that the reports be approved and ordered pl4ced on filg.

A communication from the Public Utilities Commission inclosing blank forms
for an annual report of the Water Works Department was read. It was voted upon motion
of Adams that the matter be referred to the Water Commissioner for attention.
A letter was read from The Pioneer Irrigation District with map attached
showing the - entire proposed system of drainage ditches now being constructed
by the United Sta"s within the City Limits, requesting the City to approve the
entire construction as indicated on the attached map,and to also grant a right of
way through Irving street and all street intersections on their behalf to the
United States for the construction of a Drainage ditch known se Dix1e slough.

Be it resolved by the Mayor and the City Council of The City of Caldwell,
Idaho,that the general plan and profile of the Dixie Drain slough through said
city of Coldwell,as approved by the City Engincer,on file in His office and
hereby referred to and by reference made a part of this resolution,are by this
Resolution adopted and approved.
It was voted upon motion of Councilman Adams,seconded Counoilman Boone
that the resolution be adopted.
Bill No.10,by Steunanberg, entitled "An Ordinance granting to the United
States of America and its assigns a franchise to construct,maintain and operate
a drainage pipe through certain streets in the city of Caldwell Idaho Was
read for the first time.
A motion was made by Councilman Harrington,eeoonded Councilman Boone
that the rules be suspended and that the reading on three separate days be
dispensed with and that Bill No.10 be read the second time by title and the
third time in full and placed on its final passage.
The roll being called on the motion the vote resulteds
Ayes- Aokley,Adama.Boone,Harrington and Steuneaberg -5
Kay"-None.
Absent- Parker -l.So the motion prevailed.
Bill- No.lO,read the second time by Title
Bill No.10 read the third time in full and placed on its final passage.
on the question shall Bill No.l0 pass? The roll being called the vote resulted.

Nsyes -None.
Absent- l- Parker.So Bill No.10 passed becoming Ordinance No.2.40.
Bill No.11,by Adams,entitled, "An Ordinance providing for a license to be
paid by the Owner or keeper of every stage coach ,hack,carri age, droy,truok *automobile
or other vehicle whioh shall be used for the conveyance of packages.goode or
fraight,from place to place within the City for hire,and providing a penalty for
the violation thereof." Was read for the first time.

A motion was made by Harrington that the rules be suspended and that the

Absent- parker -1. 90 Bill Noll passed becoming Ordinance No.241.
Petition of Myra O'Bryan at al,owners of the land in section 36,aaking
the City to open a road on the half section line running south from Linden Ave
one half mile,and agreeing to give free of cost such part of their land as is
needed for the said road,was read. It was voted upon motion of Ackley that the
Clark be instructed to notify the signers of the petition that the City would
do some work on the said road as soon as title to a fifty foot right of way
is conveyed to the City.
It was voted upon motion of 9teunenberg that the Finance Committee be
empowered and directed to purchase storage coal for the City.
It was voted upon motion of Adams that the matter of paying for the
water strainer,which had previously been ooneidered,be referred to the
water Committee.
It was voted upon motion of Ackley that recess be taken until Monday
evening July 20th.,1914,at 7e30 P.M.

the Council w.E.Parker presiding,Council*en Adema,Boone and Harrington present
9.Ben Dunlap.Clerk,when the following business was transacted.
A communication from the Officers of the Village of Middleton,under date of
July 9th,1914.expressing their appreciation for the services rendered by the
Caldwell Sire Department at their recent fire,was read. It was voted upon motion
of Adams that the Clerk be instructed to answer the same in a suitable manner.
The Quarterly Report of the City Treasurer for the Quarter ending June 30,
1914 was read. It was voted upon motion of Adams that the report be approved
and ordered placed on file.
