COUNCIL CHAMBERS, JUNE 24 1931
8:00 P. M.
The City Oouncil met persuant to a call by the Mayor with Mayor Fred L. Lilly
presiding.
On roll call of the Councilmen, the following answered present: Ssndmeyer, Keiater,
Bales, Dickens and Johnson. Absent Vassar.
The purpose of the meeting was to open the bids presented for the purpose of oiligg
approximately 72,000 sq. yards of streets in Local Improvement Districts Nos. 12 and 13.
Two bids were received , opened and read as follows:
Morrison — Knudsen Co, bfBoise bid 28 cents per Square Yard or a 'total of $ 20,160.0
The Idaho Contracting Co. of Boise bid 32 cents per Square Yard or a total of
$ 23,o4o.00.'
E. L. Vassar came into the meeting at this time and was marked present.
Motion made by'Sandmeyer and seconded by Dickens that the above bide be taken
under advisement until further meeting ofthe Council. Motion carried.
Mr. Shaver representing the Idaho Contracting Co and Mr. Olsen r'epreeenting the
Morrison— Knudsen Co consented that the checks tendered as per bids be retained by the
Council until such time as matter was definitely settled.
On motion properly made and seconded the meeting stood adjourned.

The city Council met in Regaler Monthly meeting, with Mayor Fred L. Lilly presiding.
On Roll Call of Councilmen, the following answered present: M. S. Sandmeyer , A. G.
Keister, R. L. Vassar and Joe Diokeaa. Absent 0. M. Johnston and C. E. BeLes.
A Committee from the Forward Club, composed of Mrs Carrie ateunenberg, Mrs John
Oupples and Kra Anoil Steunenberg, appeared before the Council and asked that the Council
memorial
donate the of $ 50.00 on a owing for the S lark.
Moved by Sandmeyer and seconded by Dickens that the request of the above committee
be granted and that when the swing is ready for installation that this City Council give
the sum of 4 50.00. Motion carried.
The Clerk read the Minutes for June let., inns 8th., Jane 15th., and June 24th.
on motion made by Vassar and seconded by Diokens the above Minutes were 'approved.
The June bills were read and on motion made by Di�ne end seconded by Kaister these
bills were allowed end Warrants were ordered drawn for the various amounts, all of which
had been approved by the Chairman of the Finance committee, as follows;

ing protests to the proposed Financial Budget of the City for the year 1931 and 1932,
with mayor Fred L. Lilly preeiding.
On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present; M. a. sandmeyer, A. G ;'Xois-
ter, C. E. Bales, Joe Dickens and C. m. Johnson. Absent E. L. Vassar.
This being the date set for hearing protests against the proposed eatimalre of egpen.
diturea of the City of Caldwell for the fiscal year beginning the First Tuesday in may 1931
and ending the First Tuesday in May 1932: The said estimate and tax levy being in excess
of ten mills. for general purposes.
