The following bids were opened and read: J. 0. Young,& Sons 13,281.14 David Dorsey 14,514.30 Don Stewart 14,147.53 The City Engineer recommended to the Mayor and Council the Bid of J. 0. Young & Sons be accepted. RESOLUTION By C ouncilman Bettis. it Moved by Harrell . seconded by Counci lman Shorb that. the following R be adopted: WHEREAS, J. 0. Young & Sons of Nampa, Idaho, has presented a bid in the amount of $13,281.14 for I. �i the construction of curb and gutter and pavement in Local Improvement District # 40, and II WHEREAS, it appears to the best interest of the City of Caldwell, to accept this bid. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk, on behalf of the City of Caldwell be authorized to execute a contract with J. 0. Young & Sons for curb and gutter and pavement in Local Improve— 'I ment District No. 40. Upon Roll Call those voting in the affirmative were: Burrell, Eldredge, Shorb and Bettis. i Negative- None. Absent and not voting! Blomquist and Cleveland. I I Thereupon the Mayor declar::d the motion carried and the Resolution adopted. The following letter was reads July 5, 1956. Honorable Mayor and City " ounoil Caldwell, Idaho New Caldwell High School I l i Gentlement In the past several days there has been considerable static and discourse regarding the abailable protection in the area of this new construction. fl For your information and guidance, please be adVised that this high school property has in no way been penalized for any lack of sufficient water supplies in the vicinity. I am informed that new water mains have )een installed in this area and that the anticipated fire flow is in the vicinity of 1,000 gpm. It is con— sidered that this flow of water, under normal circumstances, would be very adequate so far as fire protection is concerned. Very truly yours, /s /Glenn I. The Coimeil met pursuant to call and acknowledgment of notice in the following formr' CALL. -UM ACRNOWLEDOMENT OF NOTICE We, the undersigned Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho do each hereby acknowledge 'notice of a special meeting of said City Council to be held at the Council Chambers in the City Hall in the City of Caldwell, Idaho at the hour of 8 -00 o'clock P. M. on the 9th day of July, 1956, for the transaction of all business in connection with the following object: Receiving of bids for the purchase of $750,000.00 Sewer and Water Revenue Bonds of said City of Caldwell, Idaho, which object was submitted to each of the undersigned in writing.
