The Regular MontiLly meeting of the City Council met in the Council Rooms of the City Hall, witb the Mayor Emery L. Vassar, presiding. On Roll the following Councilmen answered present: Edger L. Oakes, 17. R. Hollingsworth, G. M. Fenrich and F.D. Mumford, ribs ^nt W.S.Boynton and G.U. Montgomery. The Minutes of June let., 9th., 24th., and 25th., were read and approved as read. . Mr. Boynton appeared and was marked present. Mr. Dave Isom appeared before the Council and asked that the alley between Han - ibal and Galveston Streets and 7th., and 8th., Streets be opened. The Mayor referred this matter to the Road Committee. Mrs. J. J. Allison and Mr. Geo West representing WT. P. Jones, Dr. Blondel and Wm Dawon a-peared before the Council and asked that their land be removed from the City Limits- The Mayor and City Engineer informed Mrs. Allison and Mr. West that they would have to.file an action in the District Court. The Clerk read an Affidavit of Publication. Applications for Pool Hall License were read from, 1. H. Waters, P. A. Martin and S.F.Bow, the fce accompanying each application. Applic�,tionsfor Card Room License were read from, I. H. Waters, P.A. Martin, S.F.Bow, add J.G.Tilson, the fee accompanying each application. Application for Beer License were read from, G. Munesade, 1, H. Maters, P.A. Lie tin, H..L. Livesay, J. G.WWilson, E.G.Bow and S.F. Bow, the fee accompanying each applicat Moved by Oakes, seconded by Boynton that these application be allowed.. Motion carried. The Mayor appointed Mr. Boynton and Mr. Fenrich as a corrmittee to investigate an open toilet near the North Pump House and to report at the next Council Meeting. . The Billa for June were reeled and on motion by Mumford, aec,nded by Fenrich that these_Bills be allowed and warrants be ordered drawn for the various amounts all.of which had heart approved by the Chairman of the 2inance Committee, Motion carried. gas. M. Mayor C ity Clergy COUNCIL JULY 27, 1936. The City Council met pursuant to a published notice for the purpose of consider- ing protests to the proposed Financial Budget of the City for the year 1936 -3'7, with the Mayor E. L. Vassar, presiding. Un Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present: Boynton, G.W..Montgomery, G. M. Fenrieh and W.R. Hollingsworth. F.D. Mumford, W. S. This being the date set for hearing; protests agemst the proposed estimate of expenditures of the Uity of Caldwell for the fiscal ^ =ar beginning the first day of May 1936. Thb said estimate and tax levy being in excess of 10 mills for general purposes. And that he publisher of said THE CALD'JELL PUX3 *TRIBUNE, a daily newspaper, has all the time since he 5th day of July, 1933 and in each issue thereof, at the head of the editorial column o f said newspaper, announced the day of the week to -wit: Saturday, on which legal notice squired by law or by order of any Court of competent jurisdiction to be published weekly, ill be published; that the said paper is in general circulation in Canyon County, Idaho a nd has b?en for a -oriod of seirenty eight weeks preceding the first .PublicatIOMs of this dvertIsement, a copy of which is attaehed hereto, and by reference thereto made a part of this affidavit, and was published in the regular Saturday issue of TIT CALDl1ELL NEWS =' j TRIBUNE for three consecutive weeks beginning m th the issue of July 11, 1936 and ending with the issue of July 25, 1936.
