Z7 Section 3• That notice of said meeting and public hearing shall be given by at least two publi- cations in the News - Tribune, a daily newsnaner printed and published in the City of Caldwell, Idaho, which said notice shall be printed in the Friday issues thereof on June 30, and July 7, 19611 which said notice shall be substantially in the following form: "NOTICE OF METING AND PUBLIC HEARING OF THR PROPOSED ESTIMATED :XPENSES OF THE CITY OF CALUwELL, IDAHO, FOR THE', FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING MAY i., 1961, ;AID ESTIMATE ADM TAX LEVY FOR GENERAL PUR- POSES B?ING IN SACF CF TEE MILLS. The City Council and Mayor of the City of Caldwell, Canyon County, Idaho, having determined at a meeting duly and regularly called and held in the City of Caldwell, Idaho, on the 26th day of June, 1961, that s =id City will require a tax levy for general purposes, as provided by law': for the fiscal year begin- ning May 1, 1961; sad as fully setout in the estimate of expenditures of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, for the fiscal year beginning May 1, 1961, duly adopted, passed and approved by the Mayor and Council at said meeting, held on said date, and said Mayor and Council having determined at said meeting that it will be necessary to pass an appropriation bill appropriating in excess of ten mills for general purposes of said City for said fiscal year. NCTICE I5 HEREBY GIVEN: That a public meeting and hearing is hereby granted on said apnropriation bill to be held at the City Hall in the City of Caldwell, Canyon County, Idaho, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P. M. on the 10th day of July, 1961. For further detailed information concerning the said proposed appropriation bill, reference is hereby made to the said estimate of exnenditures hereonabove referred to and 'ully`setforth in the minutes of the Mayor and Council o" said City on the 26th day of June, 1961. That said Notice shall be the same as hereby ordered and that the City Clerk of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, is hereby ordered, authorized and directed to cause said notice to be published as h mentioned and procure proof of said publication. Upon Roll Call those votin- in the a_ °firmative were: Vassar, Smith, Lub -, Shorb, Eldredge. Negative : None. Absent and not voting: Bates. - Thereupon the Mayor announced the motion carried and the Resolution adopted. It was unanimously agreed by the Council to hold the regular meeting for July on the 5th. Mayor Simmerman informed the Council a meeting would be held with the Highway Board about the 15th and all Councilmen should be present. City Engineer reported the Troy Laundry has requested permission to change the drive -in to their pay rindow. This was referred to the City Engineer with a report back to Council. Mayor. y 7 fi_ , . , City Clerk, COUNCIL CHAMBERS JULY 5th, 1961 8:00 P. M. The R Monthly Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Rooms of the City Hall. Upon Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present: E. L. Vassar, N. E. "Coley" Snith, i Max Luby, Emile Shorb , L. P. Eldredge and Alvin K. Bates. Due to the absence of Mayor Ed Simmerman, E. L. Vassar president of the Council presided. Application for Card License was read from Oliver Vanderwilt, the fee accompanying the ap- placation. Moved by Councilman Shorb, seconded by Councilman Eldredge this License be granted. U)on Roll Call it a , )peared the motion was unanimously carried. Edgar Nelson, Manager Star Lust Auto Court was present and requested action be taken by the Council to prevent children from running across the grounds of the 8ourt to retrieve baseballs. The Council informed Mr. Nelson this matter would be investigated and taken care of to the satisfaction of all parties. The Bills for June were read and on motion by Councilman Smith, seconded by Councilman Eldredge these Bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn for the various amounts all of which have been approved by the Finance "ommittee.
