On Roll Call the following Councilmen naswered present; J. Randall Sloop, Pete Olesen, F. R. Newman, 0. L. Thornock and F. E. Fresher, yinutes of June 5th., were read and approved as read. The °oupon the fallowing REsolution wes presented to the Mayor and Council by Councilma n Fresher. RESOLUTION. WHER':AS, it is with profound regret that t;9 Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, are called upon to record the passing of John Finck. WHEREAS, in obedience to the Divine Will, John Finck has been removed from our midst and association; and WHEREAS, ',is voice has beens tilled, his activities ceased; yet, in everything that meant the upbuilding of the community he so much loved, in a verything that called for patriotic devotion to his community, and to the principle of true Americanism he gave of his time freely and unselfishly. NOW, THEREFORE, Be it Resolved by the Mayor and Council, duly assembled, that we mourn the loos of a loyal, daithful and lovable man, who has rendered loyal and fait2Lful service to tl.e City of Caldwell, and his friends and neighbors as well, and that as an evidence of the honor and respect with which the City of Caldwell regards the passing of John Finck, a copy of thda Resolution be spread upon the minutes, and that a copy be supplied to his faithful and devoted wife and ohildreri.� Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Fresher, seconded by Councilman Clasen that said Osolution be a dopted. The motion was unanimously carried and said resolution adopted. Thereupon the Mayor announced the appointment of R. H. MCNEIEL as COUNGTLMAN from 1YARD CNN to fill the unexpired term of John Finck. Moved by Frasher, seconded by Newman that this appointment be confirmed. Motion carried. Moved by McNeill that Park Committee investigate status CC property at 10th & Grant Street for sale to Floyd L. Holt. This motion was duly seconded by Olesen. Motim carried. Mr. Deacon of General Appraisal Co., of Portland, Oregon was intorduced by Mayor Bryant and he gave a brief resume of'the business of the General Appraisal Co. That the City of Caldwell, Idaho, hereby approves that certain amended or revised lease dated this 13th day of June, 1944, by and between the City of Caldwell, Idaho, a municipal corporation, as "Leasor" and the United States of America acting by the Federal Public Housing Commissioner, therein called the "Government ", as lessee, whereby the City of Caldwell, Idaho, leases to s aid lessee those certain lands and premises herein above dasoribed according to the teraw and conditions of a aid amended lease; and 2. E IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Mayor of the City of Caldwell be and hereby Is authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Caldwell said amended or revised lease, d ated Tune lg ' °1944, duly attested b y the City Cleik of the City of Caldwell, with the seal of the City of Caldwell affixed themto. Whereupon Ito-was moved by Councilman Newman, seconded by Councilman Thornock that said Resolution'be adopted. The moti m was unanimously c arried and said resolution adopted. Moved by Olesen, seconded by Newman that the Mayor appoint Cem noilmen Fresher and MoNeill to set up new rules and regulations for the Airport and to report at the wt Council Meeting. - The Sills for Tune were read and on motion by Sloop, seconded by olesen that these Bills be allowed and Warrants be ordered drawn for the various amounts all of which had been approved by the Chairman of the Finance Committee. AND TO OBTAIN POSSESSION OF THE AIRPORT AND IMPROVEMENTS THEREON. 1i WHEREAS, that certain "Airport Agreement" dated August 23, 1943, between the City Caldwell, as p of the first part and Mack S. Johnston, as party of the aeeond part, which lease was thereafter assigned to Jack Medlin; and WHEREAS, the terms of ssidegreement have been violated and broken and the City desires to terminate said lease and to obtain possession of the property covered thereby; NOW THEREFORE, 79 IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell that such legal action: ^ae '.-lay be necessary to cancel and terminate said lease and to obtain possession of the premises eoversd tbs reby be and the same hereby is authorized; and the City Attorney of the Cityof Caldwell is hereby authorized and directed tot aka such legal steps as may be `eCessary and proper and to file such action as may be necessary and pro per Ji to terminate and cancel said lease and to obtain possession of the promises covered by said lease. Whereupon it was moved by Councilman McNeill, seconded by Councilman Fresher, that said R be adopted, Motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Council it was moved by Sloop, seconded by Thornock that Council adjourn. Motion carried. Mayor. City Clerk. COUNCIL CHAMBERS, JULY 10th., 1944, 8;00 P.M. The Council met on Call of the Mayor with t7ho Mayor, Thurlow Bryant presiding. On Roll Call tAe following Councilmen answered present; J. Randall Sloop, Pete lesen F. E. Newman, R. R. McNeill, 0. L. Thornock and E. E. Fresher. The Mayor informed the Council t10 meeting was called to take up new and un- inished business; Mr. Harold Engel, representing the Junior Chamber of Commerce was preeent,Amd iscussed the plan for a Mdmorial Plack bearing the names of Caldwell Boys Moved by Thornock, seconded by Sloop that the City contribute $350, toward this emorial. The Mayor appointed Councilmen Newman to work /with the Junior Chamber of Commerce on L d.s matter. Miss Joyse Whitmore was present and requested better guard eervice at the Airport. This matter ims discussed by the Council and left on the table. Moved by Fresher, seconded by Oleaen that Council adjourn to most July, 11th., 144 •at 8:00 o'clock P.
