The Mayor informed Mrs. Landis that she would have to take this matter up with the Pioneer Irrigntion District. CCUNCIL CHAMBERS, JULY 5th„ 1939, B :00 P.M. The Regular Monthly Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Room of the City Fall, with the R4e,.or, Edgar L, Oakes, presiding, On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present: W.E.Babcock, C. 0, Me- Dannel, Oscar Stengel, G. M. Fenrich and M.S.Sandmeyer. Absent: W.B. Handford. The Minutes were read and approved as read. Herman PurWeier stated that the electric switch at'the Soft Ball Field needed r4pair. This matter was referred to the Park Committee. The Mayor requested the Chief of Police to inform Mr. Shade that he would have to take up the matter of operating a fruitstand''on North Kimball with the zoning Committee Counei]ma n Fenrieh recommended to the Council that Jimmie Fullbright be allowed 03.00 for a bicycle which was damaged by one of the City trucks. Mr.Dildine appeared before the Mayor and Council and stated that the City was hauling brush and trash to Block 24, Golden Cate Addition and that it had become a fire hazard. The Mayor referred this matter to the Chief of Police and the Fire Chief. Thereupon Councilman Sandmeyer introduced Bill No.l, Proposed Ordinance No. 562, LI L_ entitled: Bill I 1, Ordinance No, 552. The Mayor directed the Clerk tocall the roll on the motion with the following result: Those votlnb in the affirmative were: Babcock, McDannel Stengel, Fenrich and Sandmeyer.. Negative: None. Absent and not voting: Handford: The Mayorchclared the motion had passed by the necessary three - fourths majority m d directe the Clerk to read Bill No 1, the second time by title and the third time in full, section by s ection. Tls Clerk reed the Bill as directed. The question then being "Shall Bill No. 1, pass ?" The Eayor directed the Clerk too all the roll on the above question which resulted as follows: Those voting in t he affirmative were; Babcock, €BcDannel, Stengel, Fenrich, and Sandmeyer. Negative: None. Absent -nd not voting: Handford. Thereupon, the Mayor declared Bill No 1, had passed, and the M yor inaopensession T. the Council duly signed and approved the Bill, and the Clerk duly signed and attested the same which became Ordinance No. 562. The Yayor directed the Clerk to make proper entry of the same and to cause Ordinance No 562, to be publisehd in the Caldwell News - Tribune, the official news - paper of the City of Caldwell, Idaho. Thereupon, the following preamble and resolution was presented to the hayor and Council by c ouncilman Sandmeyer, who moved the adoption thereof which motion was duly seconded by Councilman Stengel. RESOLUTION. By Sandmeyer. IN -I=ORY OF JUSTIN..(JESS).B: GOWEN. It is with profound regret that the I:' -ayor and C ouncil of the City of Caldwell, Idaho are called upon to record the passing of Justin (Jess B.Gowen. We pause to mourn hisdepartura and recall his many virtues, and the accomplish- ments of his long useful career. It is a privilege to have known,a man of his character and to have associated with him. IIe was faithful to his trust, a tuue and loyal friend and his life and labor among us was an inspiration to all.
