make proper entry p; the passage of the Ordinance upon the Journal of the proceedings of
the Counoil as a part of the minutes of this meeting and further direeted the Clerk to
cause Ordinance No. 508 to be published in the Caldwell News- Tribune, the offioial news-
paper of the City -of Caldwell, Idaho.
Moved by.Bales and seconded by Hollingsworth that the City Treasurer be authoriz-
ed to pay the last half of the 1932 taxes. Motion Carried.
Moved by.Boynton and seconded by Montgomery that this Council stand adjourned.
Motion Carried.

The City Aouncil met pursuant to adjournment Of July 3rd. in the Coupoil Room
of the City Hall, with the Mayor, E. L. Vassar, presiding.

The Minutes of June 5 /and June 29th. read anq approved as read.
A letter was read from Colonel S. D. Hays, thanking the Mayor and all other City
officials for their hospitality while the 116th. Cavalry were visiting in the City.
The Mayor asked the Clerk to Write•a letter to Colonel Kaye thanking him for his
letter of appreciation and inviting the Cavalry back at any future time.
The Bills for June were read and on motion made by Bales and seconded by Fenrioh
that these Bills be allowed and Warrants be ordered drawn for the various amounts, all of
ehich had been approved by the OhalYman of the Finance Committee. Motion Carried.

i A Petition signed by 19 residents asking that a certain house, shed and tractor I
engine be removed from.Oak Street because they are unsightly and a fire hazard.. Said
shed and traotot being.the property of Simon Moore, Yale, Oregon.
Moved by Boynton and seconded by Montgomery that the Clerk write Mr. Moore to
remove said house, shed and tractor. Motion Carried.
Bhe Clerk read.a Statement from R, K, Beatty giving am itemized statement of his
work on the sewers on the North part of the Oity and recommended that further work be done.
The Council decided that it would be willing to make these extensions provided
the funds are available.
The Clerk read.Resolution No. 5, by 0. E. Bales as follows:
WHEREUPON, on motion of 0. E. Bales duly seconded by E. L. Oakes, the following
resolution was passed;
BE IT RESOLVED -that the following form for application for lioense to sell.beer to
consumers under Ordinance No. 509 of the City of Caldwell, be, and the same, is, hereby
adopted and approved as the form to be used by the City Clerk for all applications -for lice sea
to sell beer containing not more than 3.2 per cant of alcoholic content by weight,.to —wit:

The undersigned hereby makes application, under the provisions of Ordinance
No. 509 of the City of•Oaldwell, Idaho, passed and approved on the 29th day of June, 1933,
to conduc0 a place Of business where beer containing not to exceed 3.2 per cent of alooholi
content by weight is sold to the consumer, at 4 Street in the 01ty of Caldwell,
to be known as
The name of the owner of said place is whose age is _ years, and

business is The name of the person who will have active management of the place of
The sum•of Twelve and 50/100 Dollars Q 12.50) is hereby tendered for licens
for one year ending at- midnight, June 30,
The undersigned hereby agrees and consents that the Mayor, City Olerk, Chief
of Police of Caldwell, Idaho, or any officer of the United States or of the State of Idaho,
shall, at all times during business hours, have the right and privilege, and such right and
privilege is hereby granted, of going upon the premises and taking samples of beer or other
beverages sold under the above mentioned ordinabce and see that the same does not exceed in
alcoholic content as provided by said ordinance.

Moved by.Bales and seconded by Oakes that the above Resolution be adopted.
Motion Carried.
J. O. Conley tendered hie resignation as Ohairman of the Swimming Pool Committee.
The resignation was laid on the table.
Mrs. Ida Ruby - notified the Council that Mrs. A. B. Cornell had removed from the
city thus creating a vacancy on the Library Board.
The Clerk was- asked to write to Mrs. Oornel, asking her for her resignation.
The Mayor appointed a committee composed of E. L. Oakes, W. S. Boynton and 0. E.
Bales to investigate the ravages of the Elm Beetle and to report back to the Council.
No further busines appearing at this time, the Council stood adjourned on call of
of the Mayor, on motion properly made by G. W. Montgomery and seconded by 0. ales.
