The Cqunoil met in regular session, pgrsuent to adjournaftt with ''ayor K eley presidi 2 9 ,
Councilmen„ Conley, Dutton, Mumford, and Wheeler, present, and Kimbromgh and I5:connel, twat.
It was voted on motion of Wheeler, seoonded by Dutton, that it is the sense of the
Council, that the various oommittemen lay off the men in the departments, that -are do ii
sufficient revenue tc carry on the department.
Resolution No.3 by Conley was presented as foolows:
A RESOLUTION CALLING A PUBLIC MEETING OF THE QUALIFIED ELSmTORS OF THE CITY. OF UML 1
FOR FRIDAY JULY 17TH,1925 AT EIGHT O'CLOCK P.M. FOR THE PURPOSE O? VOTING UPON THE qMM
WHETHER OR NOT THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL SHALL BE AUTHORIZED TO LEVY AN ADDITIONAL FO
ONE HALF MILLS FOR GENERAL PURPOSES.
WHEREAS? at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Caldwell h
on the first do;, of June, 1925, it was resolved and ordered that a public meeting of th
voters of the City of Caldwell, be held s* the City hall Of the said City, at the hour
o'oiook P.M. on the 23rd day of June. 1925 for the purpose of voting upon the question
whether or not the Mayor and City Council shall be authorized to levy an additional 4+ ir
for general purposes, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 157. Laws of 1923. of the 9
Idaho; and
Whereas, due and legal notice of said public melting was not given as provided by law

Section 2. That a public meeting of the qualified voters of the City of Caldwell, Bdah

The City Council and Mayor having determbned that it will require more then a *en
levy'to raise sufficient money for general purposes as provided in Bhapter 157, laws of
State of Idaho, Notice is hereby given that a piblio meeting of the qualified voters of

The a7 lint of money theta ten mill levy authorized to be made will raise is the sum of $27488.31.
_An estimate of the amount of money necessary to be raised to pay the expenses of such City for
general parposeS is the ewe of $41,232.50.
The PLrposse for which the additional 4Q mill levy is to be made in addition to the Vie -ten
mill levr authooized by statute is to create a general fund for general purposes whichinolude
the gene al expense of running the city government, such as the improvement of the streets, payment
of salar ee of employees, and other general expenses
All persons who are registered and who voted at the last city election are entitled to vote
at this eating.
It wi require a two thirds vote of those present and voting at the meeting to authorize and
levy in dition to the ten mills the City Gounoil is by law authorized to levy.
onl voters qualified to vote in this city at a general election will be entitled to vote
at this eating.
If at such meeting two- thirds of the quaiffaad votere,qualdfied as herein provided, of the City
of G aldP all, present and voting, vote in favor of authorizing the City Council to make a levy in
&&ditiol to ten mills provided in the Statutes as hereinbefore mentioned in any amount not
exeeediU five mills on the dollar, the City Oounoil is thereupon authorized by such vote to levy
in aeldil i= to the ten mina as provided in said law, such number of mills ndt exceeding said
five mi la.

t was voted on motion of Mumford, asoonded by Mutton, that resolution No. 3 be adopted.
It was voted on motion of donley, seconded by Whehier, that the Council adjourn.
