HomeMy WebLinkAbout1923-07-02 city council minutes/S 0 I r, A COUITOIL OHAMBERB,JOLY 2ND,1923. - The Council met in regular session with Mayor Smsed, abbent,Preeidenjr of the Counoil,Mnmford, presidigg, and Councilmen, Feeling, .Harmon, Kimbrough, Robb,& Wheeler present. -The Minutes of the previous session wets read and approved. It Was voted on motion of Kimbrough, seoonded by Wheeler, that the Council refund J.B.West,of Huntington,Ore.$82.$4, the'difference between the Sale price and costs of impounding and selling 5 horses, taken up by the Pound M aster on April 83rd, 1953, as providbd for by the Ordinan0e0 of the City of Caldwell. C.J.Weotcott, representing the Westoott Bales Co., requested a permit to move hie Storage Tanks from the present location to Lots 1 -5, Block 72 Original Townsite. It was voted on motion of Simbrough, seoonded by Robb, that the request be granted. President of the Counoii,Mumford, read a letter from the Sampson Music Co.,Bolse, Idaho, asking that they be permitted to paint poles through the City with the Sampson B Trail dign, a thing which is contrary to the Ordinances of the City of Caldwell.It was voted on motion of Wheeler, seconded by Robb, that the Sampson Music Cos be not allowed to mark the poles. :Wheeler, Street gommitteeman, reported that the Sprinkling Contract had been let t0• I.P.Jones and S.Greenfiled. It was voted on motion of Wheeler, seoonded by Fouling, that the Mayor appoint a Committee, of three to view the Light situation and bring back recommendations; alto beds given power to procure more lights for the City Park. The Mayor appointed Wheeler. Kimbrough, and Harmon. It was voted on motion of Kimbrough, seconded by Fouling, that the bills as read and approved be allowed and warrants ordered drawn a s follows: GENERAL FUND NO. COUNCIL CHAMBERS, JULYIOTH,1923. 1 0 h The Council met in regular session pursuant to adjournment with Mayor Smeed, presiding, Councilmen, Peuling,Harmon,Himbrough,Robb, & Wheeler, present, and Mumford, absent. Joel Brown, Director of Weights and Measures of the Departmeht of Agriculture of the Stale of Idaho, appeared before the Council and asked their cooperation in deal- ing With this in the City, so it was voted on motion of Kimbrough, seconded by Fouling, that the Mayor appoint a man to be known as Deputy Director of Weights and Meagutos within the City of Caldwell. F.P.Eipp, and* W.H.Delyria appeared before the Council and asked to have Block 107 Goandu "ddition and Block 66 Mountain View A ddition. respectively, vacated sespeetively from lots to acreage. No action was taken on the may#er. Bill So.l by Fouling, "Entitled AN ORDINANCE RISING THE MONTHLY BATES TO BE CHARGED BY THE CITY OF CALDWELL FOR wAT&R FROM ITS WATER MAINS TBROUGH OONNECTIONB, AND FIXING A MINIMUM RENTAL ", was read for too first time. A motion was made by gimbrough, seoonded by Wheeler, that the rules requiring the reading of a bill on thus$ separate days be suspended, ® d the bill be read the second time by title, and the third time in full and placed on its final passage.
