COUNCIL CHAMBERS, JULY IST.1924.
The Council met in regular session O nly let,1924 at 8 P.M,pursuant to adjournment with
Mayor Smsed, presiding, Councilmen, Fouling, Harmon, Kimbrough, Unmford, Robb. & Wheeler,
present.
The Mayor announced this meeting had been called as a Mass meeting to vote on whether
or
mot the Council should be authorized to levy an additional 4 3/4 mills in addition to tb I
a 10
mills authorized by law, and after 176 ballots were cast, it was voted on motion of C.F.Baker,
seconded by J.S.harrington, that the mass meeting adjourn.
It was voted on motion of Robh,secondecl by Wheeler, that as the Vote had been canna E

showing 96 for and 60 aginst the additional levy of 4 3/4 mills, and the same not havinj
the
necessary 2/3 vote as req by law, the same was declared lost.
The roll being called on the same the result was as follows;
Ayae:,Peuli Elmbrough, Mumford, Robb, & Wheeler.
Nayse and Absent: None. so theldayor declared the motion had passed unanimously.
A motion was made by Feuling, seconded by Robb, that the entire Road Department forcre
Part Superintendent & motorcyle 1 be dispensed with after 5 P.11.6 July 5th,1924
The roll being called on the s=e the result was follows:
AYES: FEULUNG, BARUON XIMBROUGH, MMMRD, ROBB, & WHEELER.
NAYES AND ABSENT NONE. S the Mayor declared the motion had passed unanimously..
It was voted on motion of Ximbrough, seconded by Mmofrd, that the Mayor appoint 4 aimmitteeo
of tow togehher with himself to interview the Fourth of July lommitt ea regarding the atalus
of the Merry Go Round, Zerris Wheel etc., that were in town. Mayor appointed Harmon &
Wheeler.
It was voted on motion of Harmon, seconded by Robb, that the Council adjourn.
