In the matter of the petition of I,Iountain States Tel and Tel Company, to
increase rates, filed with the Public Utilities Commission, the City Attorney was
instructed to enter a proper remonstrance to same and to co- operate with the other
communities in any proper move to defeat the granting of the petition.

Council meet in regular session, with Mayor F. L. Lilly presiding, present,
Councilmen Dickens, Amos J. bliller, F. R. Miller. Sanberg and ,Gard, City Clerk S. Ben
Dunlap; when the following business was transacted:

Messers Fox and Ward of the Boise Valley Traction Company, appeared and
requested that a frEmehise be granted their Company on Morth Third Avenue for railroad
purposes. The matter was referred to the City Attorney and City 2;ngineer for investi-
gation and report.

Mr. John F. Pemberton appeared and requested that a sidewalk be ordered
on Blain Street between 13th and 14th Avenues and also that a cement crossing be laid
on 13th and Blain. The matter was referred to the Road Committee.

in the sum of X25.00, was read and action on same deferred until next meeting.

read and on motion of Councilman F. i. Miller, :rare approved and ordered placed on file,
namely, City Librarian, Sexton, Police Judge, City Clark, Fire Chief and Supt. of

The annual report of the City Clerk for the fiscal year, ending I.3ay 6th.,
1918, was presented and on motion of Councilman F. idiller was approved and ordered

page 7 thereof, with notice that report was open for inspection of public at office of
City Clerk.

The bo_id of felon 11. Sovereign as City Treasurer in the ilational Surety
Company in the sum of $10,000., Dated Boise, Idaho, July 1, 1918, was presented,
referred to the City Attorney, approved by him as to form and a motion was made by
Councilman Ward, seconded Oounollman Sanberg, that the bond be approved by the City
Council and accepted. The roll being called on the motion, the vote resulted;

Nayes and absent alone. The -ayor declared the motion carried and the
bond approved and accepted.

Councilman F. R. Miller introduced a rosolution providing that the City
Clerk be authorized and directed to charge certain accounts, amounting in the total to
the sum of $20,915.95 to the "Reserve Account" and credit the "Accounts Keceivable"
account with the same accounts and in the same amounts, on the water works books of the
City of Caldwell, Idaho.
A motion was made by Councilman Sanberg, seconded 1 ii. Ailler, that the
resolution be adopted. The roll being called on the motion, the vote resulted;
Ayee- Dickene, Amos J. Miller, F. 1t. Hiller, Mitchell, Sanberg and Ward -6.

resolution adopted.

Councilmen F. R. Killer introduced the foil owing resolution.
Resolution.
"TPnereas. Ordinance No. .270 of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, provides that
there shall be apportioned quarterly from the yiater forks hind to the dater 'idorks
D3preciation Fund, the sum of y500.00, and"
";7hereas the apportionment for the last quarter of the past fiscal year,
and for the first quarter of the present fiscal year may now be made,"
"Therefore be it resolved by the I +ayor and Council of said City, teat the
Treasurer of said City be and hereby is authorized and instructed to tr from the
water works fund to the water works depreciation fund the sum of 4P1,000.00"
A motion was made by 7ouncilman Sanberg, seconded Councilman F. ai. Miller,
that the resolution be adopted. The roll being called on the motion, the vote
resulted:

"Be it resolved by the ISayor and Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho,"
"That the City Treasurer of said City be and hereby is authorized, empowered
and instructed to imme-'.iately transfer to the "arrant Redemption Fund of said City, in
compliance with the provisions of `„ecLion 2268 Idaho Revised Codes, amounts as shown
to be in tthe funds hereinafter named, as follows, to -wit:

A motion was made by Councilman Sanberg, seconded Councilman F. lt. Miller,

A motion was made by Councilman Mitchell, seconded Councilman Dickens , that
the 1,1ayor and City Clerk be and hereby are authorized, empowered and instructed to
execute a contract on behalf of the City, with the 0. S. L. ii. R. Co., covering the
use of City water by said Company for a period of trio years from the 26th day of
January, 1918, at a flat rate of $75.00 per month. The roll being called on the motion,
the vote resulted:
Ayes- Dickens, Amos J. miller, F. R. Miller, Mitchell, Sanberg, 'Hard -6.
Nayes and absent -pone. The Layor declared the motion carried.
