The Council met in regualr session pursuant to adjournemet with Maycr 8meed, absent,
President of the Council, 11umford, presiding, Councilmen, Paul ing,Harmon,Robb, & Wheeler,
present, and gimbrough, absent. `
The.Preeident of the Council announced that this meeting was called for the purpose of
giving those inattendance a chance to voio6 their opinions as to whether or not they waild
vote an additional 5 mill levy in exoean of the ten mill levy as authorizd by law, and
caused the Clerk to read the call. Amotion tas made by Dr.J.PJ.Gue, seconded by A.E.Gipa n,
that It be the sense of this meeting that the Council be authorized to raise the additi nal
5 mill levy. The Mayor announced that the same would be by written or printed ballot, ind the
ballot being spread, the result was announced as follows$

And it appearing therefrom that the motion had failed to receive the neoessarya/3 vo e
as required by law, the same was duly declared lost.
It was voted on motion of Harmon, seconded by Peuling, that's. committee of two wit
Mum ford, as Chm., be appointed to interview Grant Yard and see it some method ciuld not be
devised in order to get some action on the PI11D. within the City. The Piayor appointed rmon
as the other one of the Committee.
It was voted on motion of Peuling, seconded by Robb, t^at the Council adjourn,
