The Council met pursuant to recess of June 27, 1957

Upon Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present: E. L. Vassar, Fran Blomquist, Max '
Luby, Emile Shorb, L. P. Eldredge and Leland Finley. I'
Mayor Ed Simmerman presiding.
Thereupon the Mayor announced the following ZONING BOARD APPOINTMENTS, to -wit:

Whereupon Councilman Eldredge moved that the above and foregoing appointments be confirmed, this
motion was duly seconded by Councilman Hlonquiut.
Upon Roll Call the following Councilmen voted in favor of the motion: Vassar, Blomquist, Luby, I
Shorb, Eldredge and Finley. Negative: none. Absent and not voting: none. The Mayor declared the motion
carried and the appointments confirmed.

Resolutions and Ordinances confirming the above appointments.
Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried.
Moved by Eldredge, seconded by Vassar appointment of employees working for the above Department
Heads be confirmed.
Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried.
The Mayor designated the Bank of Idaho and the Idaho First National Bank, as Banks of Depository.
Whereupon Councilman Shorb moved that the Bank of Idaho and the Idaho First National Bank, be
and they are hereby designated as the Banks of Depository wherein the funds of Caldwell shall be deposited,
this motion —s duly seeended by Councilman Blomquist.
Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried.
The Mayor designated the News- Tribune as the official newspaper for Caldwell.
lhereupon Councilman Finley moved the News- Tribune be and it is hereby designated as the official
newspaper, this motion was duly seconded by Councilman Shorb.
Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried.
The Mayor announced the appointment of Dr. S. D. Simpson, to be Health Officer.
Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Blomquist, seconded by Councilman Luby that this appointment
be confirmed.
Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried.
The Mayor announced the appointment of C. J. Hamond, to be District Sanitarian.
Whereupon Councilman Elomqvist, moved that the appointment be confirmed.
Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried.
Thereupon the Mayor announced the following appointments:

Moved by Councilman Eldredge, seccnded by Councilman Blomquist the City Attorney be instructed
to prepare the necessary papers to confirm these appointments.
Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried.
Thereupon the Mayor announced the appointment of Nicholas Ney to be Police Judge.
Moved by Councilman Blomquist, seconded by Councilman Finley this appointment be confirmed.
Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried.
Compulsory garbage - icR -up was discussed.
Caunc Shorb recomm_nded a survey of the City's Irrigation System and of those areas which

There being no further business to come before the Council it was moved by Councilman Eldredge,
