Petition for cancellation of taxes was presented to the Mayor and Council 'br Farold McClure, by his Attorney F. W. Jarvis. I It was Moved by McNeill, seconded by Burrell that the request of F. W. Jarvis as Attorney for Harold McClure, as contained in a letter deted June 12, 1945 for cancell- ation of sprinkling assessments for the years 1937 to 1944, inclusive, as levied against Lots 16, 17 and 18 of Block 110 Strahorn Addition No 1, Revised Map of Caldvreli, be re- fused and denied. Upon roll call the motion was unanimously carried. Mr. Martin Olson was present end the matter of the 1945 -1946 Budget was discussed. There b etng no further business to come before the Council it was moved by Olesen, seconded by Sloop that Council adjourn to meet June 25, 1945, at 8 :00 o'clock P.M. Motion carried. M City Clerk. On Roll Call the following Cocmeilmen answered present; J. R. Sloop, Pete Olesen, L. E. Burrell and 0. L. Thornock. Absent; Leo J. Mason and R. 3. McNeill. Whereupon Councilman Sloop presented the following resolution and moved the adoption thereof, which motion wee duly seconded by Councilman Clasen: BE IT RESOLVED, That the following is an estimate of the a xpenditures of the City of Cal ' for the fiscal year 1945 -1946, and that the following be, and is hereby adopted, and the following is an estimate prepared by the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell, Canyon Coufity, Idaho, for the probable amount of money necessary for all Purposes to be raised by taxation in the City during the year beginning May 1, 1945, in- cluding principal end interest due on bonded indebtedness and sinking funds, itemizing and classifying the several branches of expenditures as nearly as may be, to -wit: ESTIMATE OF THE EXPENDITURES OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL, IDARO, FOR TFE FISCAL YEAR 1945 -1946 June 24th, 1945. Section, 2, That before the passage of said appropriation bill and before said levy be made, a public 'Nearing be granted, and that said public heerinr upon said estimate and proposed appropriation bill is hereby called and ordered to be held at the City Hall of said City at the hour of eight o'clock P. M. Pacific Day Light Savings Time on the 16th day of July, 1945. Section 3. It was moved by Olesen, seconded by Sloop that the rules requiring that the reading of a Bill on three separate days be suspended and that Bill No 3, be read the second time by title and the third time in full, section by section and placed on the final passage. The Mayor directed the Clerk to call the roll on the a bove motion with the following resul : Those voting in the affirmative were: Sloop, Olesen, Burrell and Thornock. Negative: None. Absent and not voting: Mason and McNeill. The Mayor declared the motion had passed y the necessary three - fourths majority and directed the Clerk to read Bill No 3, the second time by title and the thir time in full section by section.
