Thereupon, on motion by Montgomery seconded by Hollingsworth the following
ion was made. Moved that the Ordinance be passed. A yea and nay vote was had on the
ion. Yea, Oakes, Bales, Boynton, Fenrich, Montgomery and Hollingsworth. Nay, none,

Thereupon the Mayor declared the motion duly passed and the Ordinance 'duly passed
adopted.
There being no further business to come before the Council, it was, on motion

A,Special Meeting of the City Council met with the following Councilmen present:
Edgar L. Oakes, C. E. Bales, W. S. Boynton, G. W. Mcntgomzrry, G. M. Fenrich and W. R.
Hollingsworth. Absent Mayor, E. L. Vassar. Due to the absence of the Mayor, Councilman
Edgar L. Oakes, as President of the Council presided.
The Council took up the consideration of the matter of the annual appropriation
bill.
ESTIMATE OF THE EXPENDITURES OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL, IDAHO
FOR THE YEAR 1934 -1935.
The following is an estimate prepared by the Mayor and City Council of the City
of Caldwell, Canyon County, Idaho, for the probable amount of money necessary for all
purposes to be raised by taxation in the City during the fiscal year beginning the first
day of May,'1934, including principal and interest due on bonded indebtedness and sinking
funds, intemizing and classifying the several branches of expenditures as nearly as may be,

A RESOLUTION CALLING A PUisLIC MEETING FOR MONDAY, JULY 00 1934, - AT EIGHT O'CLOCK
P. M., FOR THE PURPOSE OF GRANTING A PUBLIC HEARING, BEFORE THE APPROPRIATION BILL PROVIDED
FOR IN SECTIONS 49 -1716 and 49 -1102 IDAHO CODE ANNOTATED AND CHAPTER 17 OF TITLE 49 OF THE
IDAHO CODE ANIOTATED, SHALL BE PASSED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL; A COPY OF WHICH SAID
ESTIMATE OF THE PROPOSED APPROPRIATION,BILL IS FOLLY SET FORTH AT LENGTH UPON TIM MINUTES
OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE'MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL HELD ON JUNE 25, 1934; THE SAID LEVY
FOR GENERAL LEVY PURPOSES BEING IN- ZJCESS OF TYMT MILLS.
WHEREAS, At a regular meeting of the City Council Of the City of Caldwell, Idaho,
held on the 25th day of June, 1934, an estimate of the probable amount of money necessary
for all purposes to be raised in the City of Caldwell, Idaho, during the fiscal year, be
ginning the first day of May, 1934, including principal and interest due on the bonded debt
and sinking fund, itemizing and classifying the different objects and branches of ex-
penditures as near as may be, with a statement of the entire revenue of the City for the
previous fiscal year, was submitted to said Mayor and City Council by the Finance Com-
mittee, and which said estiTmte was entered at length upon its minutes; and
WHEREAS, a motion was duly made, seconded and carried, that proper resolution
be drawn fixing the time for a public hearing of protests against said proposed appropriati
bill, and giving due notice thereof;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLTED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CALDWELL, IDAHO:
Section 1. That the Mayor and'City Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, have
determined that it will require a tax levy for general revenue purposes in excess of ten
mills to raise sufficient money for general purposes, as provided by law and as is more
fully shown by the estimate of expenditures of the City of Caldwell, Canyon County, Idaho,
for the fiscal year beginning the First day of May, 1934.
Section 2. That before the passage of said appropriation bill and before said
levy be made, a public hearing be granted, and that said public h aring is hereby called
and ordered to be held at the City Hall of said City at the hour of Eight O'clock, P. M.,
on the 30th day of July, 1934, upon said estimate and proposed appropriation bill.
Section 3. That notice of the meeting of public hearing shall be,, by at lea
four publications in the Saturday issue of the Caldwell News- Tribune, a daily newspaper,
printed and publication in the City of Caldwell, Idabo, which said newspaper has, in con-
formity with Chapter 154 of the 1933 Laws, in each issue at the head of the ed-
itorial column announced the day of the week on which legal notices required by law or by
order'of any of competent jurisdiction to be published weekly, and which notice shall
be in'substantially the following form, to -wit:
NOTICE OP MEETING AND PUBLIC BEARING CF THE PROPOSED ESTIMATE OF EXPENDITURES
OF TEE CITY OF =DW=, IDAHO, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING TEE FIRST DAY OF MAY, 1$04;
SAID ESTIMATE AND TAX LEVY FOR GENERAL PURPOSES BEING IN EXCESS OF TEN MILLS.
The City Council and Mayor having determined that it will require a tax levy
for General purposes in excess of ten mills to raise sufficient money for - general purposes,
as provided by law, and as fully set forth in the estimate of expenditures of the City of
Caldwell, Idaho, for the fiscal year beginning ths; first day of May, 1934, in the minutes
of its meeting held on the 25th day of June, 1934,
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, That a public meeting and hearing is hereby granted om
said proposed appropriation bill to be held at the City Hall in the City of Caldwell, Idaho
at the hour of eight o'clock P. M, on the 30th day.of July, 1934.
For further detailed information concerning said proposed appropriation bill,
reference i'srhereby made to said estimate of expenditures hereinabove referred to and fully
set forth in the minutes of the meeting of the Mayor and City Council on- 25th day of
June, 1934.

The motion of the adoption of the resolution being duly made and seconded, and
the question being," Shall Resolution No. 4 pass"? The Mayor directed the Clerk to call
the Roll which resulted as follows: Those voting in favor of the Resolution were; Oakes
Bales, Boynton, Hollingsworth, Fenrich and Montgomery. Those opposed, None. Absent and
not voting, None. Whereupon, the Mayor declared the motion carried and Resolution Number
4 adopted, and directed the Clerk fo record the same upon the Journal of the proceedings
of the Council as a part of the minutes of this meeting, and he duly approved and signed
the same, whichwas duly attested by the Olerk.

The Regular Monthly Meeting of the City Council met in
the Council Roam of the

Hall, with the folloTing- Councilmen present: Edgar L. Oakes,

Boynton, G. W. Montgomery, G. M. Fenrich and W. R. Hollingsworth.
Absent Mayor E. L.
Vassar.. Due to the absence of the Mayor, Councilman Edgar L. Oakes, as President of the
Council. presided.
The Minutes of June 4th, 7th, and 25th, were read and approved as read.
Mr. John Smeed and Dar. F. L. Crews representing the E1kdl Drill Team, appeared
and
asked the Council to consider street space for a carnival.
Motion by Hollingsworth, seconded by Fenrich that the Mayor appoint a committee,

power to act, to work with the Lodge committee. Motion carried. The Mayor appointed
Hollingsworth,
Boynton, the City Attorney and the City Engineer.
The Bills for June wereread and on motion made by Bales, seconded by Boynton
that
these bills be allowed -and Warrants be.:ordered drawn for the
various amounts all of
which
had been approved by the Chairman of the Finance Committee.
