COIINCIL CHAMBER. CITY OR CALDNELL. IDAHO. JUNE 26. 1
Council met in regular aeasion pursuant to adjournment with Mayor
W Grant Ward presiding, on roll call the following Councilmen were found
present; Dickens, Dunlap, Fouling, Hayman, Moore and Sutton.
Meas Cowden, Blunt and Smead appeared beforeethe Council urging the
Council to take some action regarding the proposed rest room and on motion
the Mayor appointed Councilmen Hayman and Dickens a committee on same.
Mption was made by Hayman one seconded by Dickens that the Council
consider only unconditioned bide for sale of Special Municipal Improvement
Bonds and on roil call the vote was as follows;
Ayes, Dickens, Fouling, Hayman and Moore,
Mayes, Dunlap and Sutton.
The Mayor announced that the motion had carried.
It appearing that the bid of John E Price and Company was the bestbid
on motion Councilman Hayman seconded by Councilman Dickens that their bid
be accepted and the City enter into contract with said John E Price and Co.
for the sale of said Bonds, on roll being called on the motion the result
was as follows;
Ayes, Dickens, Dunlap, Fouling, Moore and Sutton.
Noyes and absent, Hone. The Mayor announced that the motion had
carried.
Notion was made by Dunlap one seconded by Dickens that the Council
consider bide on Paving, Carried.
Motion made by Fouling seconded by Dickens $hat the Council adopt
the kind of pavement described an follows;
"Gravel Bitulithio Pavement, 3inch bituminous concrete base, 8
inch top with five $ear guarantee. Roll being called on the motion the
vote was as follows;
Ayes, Dickens, Dunlap, Feulinl Hayman, Moore and Sutton.
Noyes, None. a
Motion was made by Dickens and seconded by Fouling, that Council
for$193,812.24 Dist. 2 and 3
accept the bid of the Warren Construction Odmpany/[or the construction of
the pavement as per plan adopted and the Mayor and City Clerk be authorised
to enter into contract with Warren Construction Co. for the construction of
same, Upon the roll being called on the motion, the vote was;
Ayes, Dickens, Dunlap, Fouling. Hayman, Moore and Sutton.
The Mayor announced that the motion had carried unandmouel$.
The revised figures on the bids for Water Works extension as
announced by the Committee were found to be;
J H Forbes ------------------- $27,826.70
Hartenbower Bros,------ - - - - -- 27,947.27
Green Eagineering & Cons.Co -- 27,964.84
It appearing that the bid of J H Forbes was the lowest bid. on motion
Dunlap seconded by Hayman same was awarded to F H Forbes and the Mayor and
City Clerk authorised to enter intro contract with J H Forbes for the oonst-
ruction of the Water Works Extension. the roll call on the motion was ;
Ayes, Diokena, Dunlap, Fouling, Hayman, Moore and Sutton.

On motion of Dunlap eeoonded by Reuling, the City Clerk was authorized to
pay Bond No 1 and and interest on same issued for Sewer Dist. No 5.
Motion Dunlap seconded by Sutton the Council adjourned to July, lat.

Absent Dickens.
Resolution No 4 which reads as follows was presented;
Whereas on the 25th. day of June, 1919 at an adjourned
meeting of the City Council the bid od the warren Construction Cc of
Portland, Oregon, for the paving with bitulithio and with the necessary
excavations, cement curbing, cement gutters and other appurtenances in the
in the manner provided for by ORDINANCES 90. 312 and NO 313 acid aocording
to the proposal and the approved plans and apecificationa therefor, in
all those streets and alleys described in i - Improvement District Vo.
2 and 110. 3 of said City V, "ns duly opened, rend and - accepted.
THEREFORE BE IT RESDL4ED that the Mayor and Council of the
city of Caldwell. Idaho enter into end execute a contract with the t;arrea
Construction Company of Portland, Oregon in the doing of the above speoi-
fied worknpon the terms of and under the oonditions of the contract at
this meeting read and approved and marked Exhibit "A" and placed on file
as a part of the official records of this city; that the Mayor and City
Clerk and the Chairman of the Park Committee be the duly appointed,
authorized and accredited officials to sign and execute said
contract.
Motion Hayman Seconded by Fouling that same be adopted and on
roll 0411 the vote on the motion was as follows:
Ayes, Dunlap, Feeling. Hayman, Moore and Sutton.
Absent Dickens.
The Mayor stated that the motion had carried.
Resolution No 5 was intr6claced as follows;
WHEREAS on the 25th. day of JUNE, 1919 at an adjourned meeting
of the City Council the bid of J H Forbes of Caldwell. Idaho, for furnish-
ing materials and constructing waterworks improvements and extensions of
the City of Caldwell. Idaho as provided for by ORDINANCE NO 314 and accord-
ing to the proposal and the approved plans and specifications thereddr, was
duly opened read and accepted.
