for the construction of a sidewalk accurding to plan 3 of Ordinance No. 148, as
amended by Ordinance No. 189 of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, along and in front
of certain lots and blocks in said City and providing for the payment of such
construction by an assessment levied and assessed against the property fronting and
abutting on said sidewalk ", was read.
A motion was made by Forbes, seconded Lilly , that the resolution be
adopted. The roll being called on the motion the vote resulted:
Ayes- Ackley, Dement, Forbes, Hayman, Lilly -5
Rayes -None.
Absent- Harrington - 1. So the motion prevailed.
It was voted upon motion of Ackley that Council adjorn until Friday
evening June 25th., 1915, at 8 o

It was voted upon motion of Hayman, seconded Dement, that the bid of Terry
and Me Gee be accepted.
Mr. Abercumbie, being present, thanked the Council for consideration of
his bid and upon his request the clerk was instructed to return to him his certified
check.

It was voted upon motion of Forbes that the ITayur appoint a committee,
Including the Engineer, to consider the bide submitted on culvert. Said committee
to report to the Council Monday night, and that a contract be then awarded for the
purchase of the same. The ITayur appointed Forbes and Lilly to serve with the
Engineer.
Petition of F. E. Sebree et al for the vacation of the plat of, and
alley in blucks 60, 61 and 63 Mountain View Addition to the City of Caldwell,
Idaho, was read. It was voted upon motion of Forbes that the petition be granted.
Bill No. 2, by Forbes, entitled, "An Ordinance vacating, abandoning
and discontinuing the plat and the alley appearing thereon of the Blocks Sixty (60),
Sixty one 161) and Sixty three (63) of Mountain View Addition to the City of Caldwell,
Idaho, as the sane appear upon the revised map thereof now on file in the office of
1 the Recorder of Canyon County, Idaho ", was read for the first time.
L The bond of S. Ben Dunlap, in the sum of $1000.00, as Municipal &,pluyzent
Clerk, in the American Surety Company of New York, was presented. It was voted upon
motion of Dement that the bond be accepted.
A letter was read from H. W. Dorman, City,under date of June 21st., 1915,
in which he made an offer to the City to sell Block 4, Dorrmans Addition, containing 12
lots, fur the sum of $150.00. He stated that the property would make a desirable
sand pit.

Forbes stated that the price of lots 1 to 12 inclusive of Block 30,
Original tewnsite, located on Main between 12th and 13th Streets bad now been re-
duced to $150.00.
The matter of requiring banks to furnish surety bonds as City depositories
was discussed.
It was voted ulun awtion of Forbes, seconded Lilly, that the City require

the banks to give surety bonds, as City Despositories, totaling $50,000.00, and the
rate of interest paid for city deposits be changed to 2 1/2% for daily balances. Said
banks to agree amoune themselves as to the amount of bond each bank is to furnish.

It was voted upon motion of Lilly that the Finance Currrmittee be requested
to submit at the next regular meeting a tentative draft of the probable amount of
monay necessary to defray the expenses of the current year.
It was voted upon motion of Lilly that the Yayur appoint a euamittee of
three, including the City Attorney, to investigate the matter of sign boards and the
regulating of the same within the City limits and that a report be made at the next
regular meeting. The Mayor appointed Dement a11d Lilly to serve with the City Attorney,
Councilman Lilly stated that in his opinion the traffic ordinance should
be enforced more rigidly. The Mayor instructed the Chief of Police to rigidly enforce
the same and also the Ordinance relating to bicycle riding on the sidewalks.
It was voted upon motion of Forbes that Council adjorn until Monday evening
June 28th., 1915, at e o'clock.

Council meet regular session, pursuant adjornment, with
Fred C. Bo.yes, presiding, Councilmen Ackley, Dement, Forbes and Hayman, present,
S. Ben Dunlap, Clerk, when the following business was transacted:
The Corrnittee,appointed to consider the culvert bids submitted at the
last meeting, reported, recuciu„ending that no culvert be purchased at this time. They
stated that in their opinion this was an inopportune time to buy because of the high
price on this material.
It was voted upon motion of Forbes, seconded Ackley, that all culvert bide
be rejected.
A communication was read from the Utah Corrugated Culvert and Flume Company,
Wouds Cruse, Utah, under date of June, 24th., 1915, quoting prices on steel culvert.
