Pursuant to �djourment of the adjourned ""eeting of June 16th., the Council met
in the CO'Mcil Rooms with the hn -,->r 1 7. F ,sworth, pros "ding,
On Poll Call the £ollowin� Councilmen answered present; Pdgar L, Oakes, F.D.
N7umford, W.S. Boynton, W.E. Babcock, G, T1. ^enrich, Absent: Norvil T. Hinds.
The Council proceeded to consider the annual appropriation matters.
Thereupon, Councilman P.Iunford, presented the following Resolution, who moved the
adoption thereof, which motion vas duly seconded U; Councilman Boynton.

1TTFR7A7, at a ro,,ular meeting of the City Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho,'
held on the 24th., day of June, 1938, en estimate of the probable amount of money necessary
for all purposes to be raised in the City of Caldwell, Id ^`t7, during the fiscal year, be-
ginning the lst, day of T7ay, 1938, including principal and interest due on the bonded debt
and sinking fund, itemizing and classifyinC the different ob�octs and brnncLes of expend-
itures as near as may be, with a statement of the entire revenue of the City for the pre-
vious fiscal year, was submitted to a aid ITayor and Oity Council by the Finance Committee,
and which said estimate was entered at length upon its minutes; and
rMEREAS, a motion was duly made, s sconded and c arried that proper resolution
bd drawn fixing the tine for a pifclic hearing of protests s -ainst said appropriation bill,
and giving due notice thereof;

Section 1. That the 1TSyor and City Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, have
determined that it will require n tai: levy for general revenue purposes inexcess of ten
mills to raise sufficient money for general purposes, a® provided b7 law and as is more
fully shown by the e stimate of e xpenditures of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, for the fiscal
year, beginning on the lst, day of May, 1938.
S . tetion 11._ That before the passage of the said appropriation bill and before said
levy be made, a p hearing be Cr^nted and that said public hearing is here-7 called i
and ordered to be held at the City Hall of said City at the hour of eight P. M., on the
25th., day of July, 1938, upon the said estimate and proposed appropriation bill.
Section 111. That notice of t'ae meeting of public hearing shall be given by at least'
four publications in the Saturday iss'l_e of the Caldwell TIews- Tribune, a daily newspaper,
printed and published it the Cit° of Caldwell, Idaho, which said newspaper has, in con -
form'..ty with Chapter 154 of the_1933 Session L of Idaho, in each issue at the head of
the Editorial collrnm announced the day of the week on which leCal notices required by law
or by order of any "ourt of competent jurisdiction to 'ne published wee'cly will be published

The City Council and mayor having determined that it will re-
quire a tax levy for General purposes in excess of ten mills to
raise sufficient money for general purposes, as provided b law,
add as fullyset forth in the estima.te of expenditures of the City
of Caldwell, Idaho, for the fiscal year beginning the first day of
may$ 1938, in the minutes of its meeting on the 24th„ day of
June, 1938.
NOTICE IS HFPIELY C ri'EN, that a public meeting and hearing is
hereby granted on said proposed appropriation bill to be held at
the City Fall in the City of Caldwell, Idaho, at the hour of ei;}it
o'clock P. M., on the25th., day of July, 1938.
For further detailed information concerning said proposed a p-
propriation bill, reference is here'9y made tosaid estimate of ex-
penditures hereinabove referred to and fully set forth in the min-
utes of the meeting of the mayor and Oity Council on the 24th.; day
of Nune 1938,

Section 1V. That the s aid notice sYallbe tho same as hereby ordered, and that the
City Clerk of the City of Caldwell is hereby ordered, authorized and directed to cause sa
notice to be ppblished as hereinabove mentioned and to secure proof of said publication.

The Council met on Call of the Mayor, with the Mayor, W.h. HollinSsworth pre-
siding.
On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present: Edgar L. Oakes, F. D,
Yumford, G. 1. Fentiah, W.S.3o7nton, W.E.E„bcock and Norvil T. binds. Absent: None.
The Mayor inforr,.ed the Council that the 7eeting was called to take up the matter
of closing Irving Street between 9th., and Kimball.
Mr. A. L. Yurphy representing a number of citizens appeared and petitioned the
Mayor and'Council not to close Irvin; Street.
The Mayor informed Mr. Murphy that Irwin„ Street would not be closed.
The Clerk read a petitionfrom Harry A. Tatum, recuenting the cancellation of
Special Improvement Taxes on Lots 1,2,3 and 4 in Block 103 of Goandu Addition to the City
of Caldwell, Idaho, according tq the official Plat thereof.
