Pursuant to the adjourivaent of the adjourned meeting of Sune 9th., 1936, the Rayor -end City Council met with the Mayor Lhery L.Vassar, presiding. On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered pros =nt: : L. Oakes, F. D. Mumford, ''J.S.Boynton, W.R. Hollins :s%:orth,G. M..Fenriuh and G. W. Montgomery. Absent: None. Whereupon, Councilman :iollinga presented the following preamble and resoluti 4HEREAS; The Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell, Canyon County, Idaho, has heretofore instructed and directed the City Engineer of the said City of C to prepare compl -te plans and specifications for the building, constructing, installing and - equipping of eight (8) bridges across Indian Creek at the sevFral points and places, as follows, to -wit: At The intersection of said Indian Creek with Fourth Avenue South and Arthur Street; at the intersection of said Indian Creek with Fifth Avenue South and Arthur Street; at the intersection of said Indian Creek and Arthur Street between Blocks 2 and 13 of the original tovm of the City of Celd ^ell, Canyon County, Idaho; and between Fifth and Sixth Avenues South; at the intersection of said Indian Creek with Blaine Street and Seventh Avenue South; at the intersection of said Indian Creek with Tenth Avenue South between Arthur and Blaine Streets; at the intersection Of gEid Indian Creek with Eleventh Avenue South and Arthur Street; at the intersection of said Indian Creek with Twelfth Ave- nue South between Arthur and Main Streets; at the intersection of said Indian Creek with Twenty -fits t Avenue North between Chicago Street and the Union Pacific Railroad; and WHEREAS, The said City Engineer, Fred HeConnel, has prepared and presented to the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell, Canyon County, Idaho, complete plans and speoir fieations covering said improvement, and in accordance with the directions heretofore given him by the Mayor and Council of the City of Celdwell, Canyon County, Idaho, NOIT, THEHEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the said complete plans and specifications for the building, constructing, installing and equipping of the said eight (8) bridges', as So presented by the said City Engineer, covering the said proposed improvement, be, and I the same are, hereby accepted, a proved and adopted as and for the complete plans and speci fieations for the building, constuueting, installing and equipping of the said eight (8) bridges at the points and places designated in the above preamble. Thereupon, Councilman Montgomery moved tlat the preamble and resolution be adopter which motion was duly seconded by Councilman Fenrich. A yea and nay vote was had thereon, with the following results: I Yes: Oakes, Boynton, Fernrich, Mumford, Montgomery and Hollingsworth. No: None Absent and not voting: None. It was moved by Hollingsworth, seconded by Montgomery that the rules requiring that he reading of a bill on three separate days be suspended and that Bill No. 1, be read the second time by title and the third time in full, section by section and pia on its final passage. The Mayor directed the Clerk to call the roll on the motion with the following results: Those voting in the affirmative were: Oakes, Mui4ford, Boynton, ?enrich, Holl- ingsworth and Montgomery. Those voting in the negative. None. Absent and not voting. one. The Mnyor declared the motion had passed by the necessary three - fourths majority d directed the Clerk to read Bill No. 1, the second time by title and the third time 'n full, section by section. The Clerk read the Bill as directed; The question then being °Shall Bill No. 1; pass ?" The Mayor directed the Clerk to call the roll on the above uestion which resulted as follows: Those voting in the affirmative were: Oakes, Mumford, Boynton, Fenrich, Hollingsworth and Montgomery. Thereupon, the Mayor declared Bill No. 1 had passed, and the Mayor in open session of the Council duly signed and approved the Bill, and the Clerk my signed and attested the same which became Ordinance 536. The Mayor directed the Clerk I (to make proper entry of the same and to cause Ordinance No. 53¢, to be published in the In ldwell- News - Tribune, the official newspaper of the City of Caldwell, Idaho. Whereupon, the following preamble and resolution was presented by Councilman ontgomery. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, There was levied and assessed against lots 18, 14, 15 and 16, in Block 8 of rmans Addition to the City of Caldwell, Canyon County, Idaho, according to the official at thereof now on file and of record in the office of the Recorder of Canyon County, aho, by the City of Caldwell, a sprin' cling tax for'the year 1935 in the principal sum of .66, and for the yens 1936 in the principal sum of 06\72, and WHEREAS, the said property was sold to Canyon County Idaho, for state and'covnty tame d the said Canyon County I&E o, thereafter sold the same�at tax sale to one R.UJ. Whelche ter the said taxes had been so levied and assessed against" the said property, and T11MREAS, It appears to the Mayor and C01111cil of the City of Caldrell'that said taxes d assessments are probably lost to the said City of Caldwell, Canyon Counth, Idaho, by ason of said tax sale for state and county taxes, and FI11Ei ?EAS, It appears that the said taxes and assessments were properly certified to the sasurer of Canyon County, Idaho, for collection under the law in existence at tie time the levy of said taxes and assessments, NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED That the said taxes and assessments against the said operty for the years 1925 in the principal sum of 0.66, and for the year 1926 in the i I� { I' i j 4.1Gfi yy rincip4l sum of $5.72, together with the penalties and interest thereon, be, and the same re, hereby canceled, and the treasurer of Canyon County, Idaho, as the colle"or of said axes, be, and she is hereby authorized and directed to cancel the said taxes and assess - mts upon her books, and to issue all proper certificates therefor, BE IT -FURTH RESOLVED AND ORDE_IED That the Clerk of the City of Caldwell be, and he i, hereby euthorized and directed to make a true copy of this preamble and resolution, ane P certify the same to the treasurer of Canyon County, Idaho; and moved the adoption of the 'eamble and resolution. WiEREUPON, Councilman Fenrich seconded the motion. A yea and nay vote was had thereon th the following results: Yes:. Councilman Oakes, 1unford, Fenrich, Hollingsworth, :ontgomery and Boynton. No: None. Absent and not voting: None. Whereupon, the Mayor declared the motion duly curried and the preamble and resolution ly adopted. Pursuant to adjournment of the adjourned meeting of June 24th., 1936, the Ue yor and City Council met with the Mayor Emery L. Vassar, presiding. On Roll call the following Councilmen answered present: Edgar L. Oakes, F.D. Mumford, w.S.Boynton, G. Fenrich, G.W. Montgomery and W.R. Hollingsworth. Absent: None.
