There being no further business to come before the Council, it was moved by Oak seconded by Fenrich that Council adjourn to meet June 21st., 1937 at 8 :00 P, M. Motion carried., Clerk, Mayor, COUNCIL CHAMBERS, JUNE 21st., 1937. 8 :00 P. M. Pursuant to adjournment of the Regular Monthy Meeting held on May 7th„ 1937, the Council met in the Council Rooms with the Mayor W. R. Hollingsworth presiding. On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present: Edgar L, Oakes, F, D. Mumford, W, S, Boynton, G. M, Fenrich, W. E. Babcock and Norvil T. Hibnds. Mrs. Jack Shaffer and Mr. Ralph Graham appeared before the Council and requested the Council to clean up the lots back of their property which are being used by Wm B Moved by Mumford, seconded by Babcock that the CiY.y Attorney bring action againe IMr. B a les. A Yea and Nay vote was had thereon with the following result: Yea: Oakes, Mumford, Fenrich, Boynton, Babcock and Hinds. Nay: None, Absent and not voting: None. Thereupon the Mayor declared the motion duly carried. Moved by Fenrich, seconded by Mumford that the Mayor be authorized to file a petition with the County Commissioners designating the Stock Trail as a highway where it crosses Highway # 30,at tge Boise River Bridge to Curtis Park. Fire Chief, Doyle Fender gave anc interesting talk on the Fire Convention at Everett, Washington. An Application for Beer License for one month byeSate*ay7Storea Inc., was read, the fee accompanying the application, Moved by Fenrich, seconded by Babcock that this application be allowed. Motion Icarried, The Clerk read a petition f rom Vernon Parks asking the City to pass a Resolution canceling taxes on Lots 21- 22 -23 -24 of Block 8 Dormanys Addition to the City of Caldwell, County of Canyon, State of Idaho. Whereupon Councilman Oakes presented the following preamble and Resolution and moved Its adoption, which motion was duly seconded by Councilman Hinds. RESOLUTION. By Oakes. WHEREAS, Vernon Parks, has presented a petition to the Mayor and Council for the cancellation of the following taxes on Lots Twenty -one (21) Twenty- two(22). WHEREAS, It is made to appear to the Aleyor nd Council that the sajd7 petitioner; Vernon Parks, had purchased the property at tax sale frop Canyon County, Idaho, for State and County Taxes, and that by reason thereof the Local 4 0is , t taxes against the said property are no longer a lien thereon under the rule of law that now obtained in the State of Idabo that property purchased of a County for genera 1 State and County taxes at to x OYA u� sale frees the property of all Local Impr�e Amt taxes and sales, a nd all specie assessments against the property,, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the said sprinkling tax against thesaid property for the above mentioned years in the above principal amounts for the several year plus interest and penalties, be, and the same are, hereby cancelled, and the Treasurer of the City of Caldwell, as the collector of all special improvement and special taxes of the City of Caldwell, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to cancel upon the books th assments, plus interest and penalties for each of the above years on the above described property, and to issue in suitable form anyeertificates or instrument in writing necessary to show that the said assessments and taxes have been cancelled in conformity herewith; and moved the adoption of said preamble and resolution, which motion was seconded by Hinds A Yea and Nay vote was had thereon, with the following result; Yea; Oakes, Mumford, Boynton, Fenrich, Babcock and Hinds. Nay; None. Absent and not voting; None. Whereupon the Mayordeclared the motion dnlycarried and the preamble and reso- lution duly adopted. PASSED By the Council this 21st., day of June, 1937. Moved by Oakes, s econded by Mumford that until sufficient evidence was that Mr. Gray was going to build to xes would not be cancelled. Motioncarried. Mr. W. R. Cupp appeared before the Mayor and Council and requested that the working hours of the W. P. A. workers be changed so that their hours would be grouped dif- ferent and after due consideration Councilman Oakes presented the following preamble and resolution and moved the adoption thereof, which motion was duly seconded by Councilman Boynton. RESOLMON. By Oakes. WHEREAS, application has been made to the Mayor of the City of Caldwell for the changing and grouping of the hours of W. P. A. workers working on various V. P. A. project within the City of Caldwell, and, WHEREAS, the matter of the hours assigned to the various W. P. A. workers is fs8 Is largely within the work discretion of the Works Progress Administration of the United States Goverment. NOW, =RREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of C a ldwell will co- operate with the Works Progress Administration of the United States Gover went in any manner of assignment in the grouping of hours they may see fit to assign for its workers or such progress within the City of Caldwell'.. A Yea and Nay vote was had - thereon with the following result. Yea: Oakes, Mumford, Boynton, Fenrich, Babcock and Hinds. Nay; None, Absent and not voting; None. Thereupon the Mayor declared the motion duly earried and the preamble and re- solution duly adopted. PASSED By the Council this 21st day of Mupe 1937. APPROVED By the Mayor this 21st day of June 1937. City Clerk Moved by Oakes, seconded by Babcock that the petition of R. W. Whelchel for the cancelation of taxes should not be granted. Motioncarried.
