as required by law, cr:-ated Local Improvement District No. Lay of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, for the purpos@
of constructing in said district, improvements consisting of suitable curbs and gutters and street and
alley valleys and for the purpose of surfacing, grading and oiling the streets therein; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer of the City of Caldwell has prepared and filed with the City Clerk of
said city, plans and specifications for the construction of said improvements in said Local Improvement
District No. L4 of the City of Caldwell, I.taho, which said plans and Epecificaticns have been presented to
the Mayor and City Council and approvedg and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to invite bids for the construction of said improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved and ordered by the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell,
Idaho:
! Section 1., That the plans and specifications heretofore prepared by the City Engineer and filed
�I with the City Clerk of the City of Caldwell, for the construction of certain improvements authorized in

said Local Improvement District No. 4h of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, for the purpose of constructing in
said district improvements consisting of suitable curbs and gutters and street and alley valleys and for `
the purpose of surfacing, grading and oiling the streets therein, be and the same are hereby approved.
Section 2. That the City Clerk is hereby ordered to prepare and let invitations for bids and
publish the same in the News- Tribune, official newspaper of the City of Caldwell, on Junel2, 17 and 26, '
1957, calling for the opening of said bids at the City Hall on June 27, 1957, at the hour of 5:00 o'clock
P. M. in accordance with Section 5 -2936 of the Idaho Code.
Upon Roll Call those voting in the affirmative were:. Vassar, Luby, Shorb, Eldredge and Finley 1
Ne :ative: :None. Absent and not voting: Blcmquist.
Thereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried and the Resolution adopted.
There Ueing no further business to come before the Council it was moved by Councilman Finley,
seconded by Councilman Eldredge that Council adjourn. Motion carried. -

We, the undersigned Mayor and Members of the City Council of t'ne City of Caldwell, Idaho, do each
hereby acknowledge notice of a special meeting ofthe said City Council to be held at the Council Chambers,
in the City Hall in the City of Caldwell, Idaho, at the hour of 5:00 o'clock P. M. on the 20th day of June
1957, for the transaction of all business in connection with the following object: To discuss the wage
structure, which object was presented to each of undersigned in writing.

Upon Roll Call the following Councilmen answered presents E. L. Vassar, Fran Blomquist, Max
Luby, Emile Shorb, L. P. Eldredge and Lelatd Finley.

The Mayor stated the Meeting was called to discuss the salary structure of the City Departments.

Councilman Eldredge discussed the prorosed Fire Salaries.
It was recommended by Shorb and Luby the Police and Fire Salaries be equalized. I!
Moved by Shorb, seconded by Vassar the $03.00 per month paid by the City to Fire lwnployees for
telephone rental be made a direct expense charge to the Fire Department.
Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried. f
The Mayor instructed the Clerk to check with the Telephone Company regarding this matter.

Moved by Vassar, seconded by Shorb the salaries of the Fire Department and the Police Department
be equalized.
Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried.
The UL or 48 hour week for City Employees was again brought up for discussion.
Councilman Finley stated the Road Department would continue on a L8 hour week. -

City Engineer stated the Engineering employeesuere hired on a lilt hour basis.
Moved by Blomquist, seconded by Luby,job re- valuation and salary adjustment as presented by the
:City Engineer be confirmed; also the 48 hour week, and the City Attorney be instructed to prepare the I II

necessary papers to put this into effect.
Upon Roll Call those voting in the affirmative were: Blomquist, Luby, Vassar,-Shorb and Finley.
Negative: None. Not voting: Eldredge on basis of 48 hour week. Absent and not voting: None. _
There' -!pon the Mayor declared the motion carried. i
Councilman Eldredge brought to the attention of the Mayor and Council checks issued by the Ted
,Price Constructicn 'empany were being returned to the Bank.

The City Attorney advised if the City was holding checksfrom the Ted Price Construction Company h
contact should be made with Intermountain Gas Company.
There being no further business to come before the Council it was moved by Councilman Vassar,
