Nays - -0. Absent -- Paynter. So the resolution passed.
Voted', on motion of Devers, that Council adjourn until June 20, 1910, at 8 P. m
Monday, June 20, 1910. Council met in regular session pursuant to adjarn-
ent with Mayor Gowen presiding, and Councilmen Devers, Farrar, Gartin, Harris, Paynter,
present; Shorb, Clerk.
A motion was made b,* Farrar t2iat the City Treasurer is hereby instructed to
turn over to the Warren Construction Co., in exchange for warrants, $25,000.00 in
Special Improvement Bonds, the said Compan to pay accrued interest to the date of
approved estimates. The roll being called on the motion, the vote resulted.
Ayes -- Devers, Farrar, Gartin, Harris, Payntar--5.
Naya - -0. Absent — Clark. So the motbn prevailed.
F. L. Thomas filed bond to tap sewers, which bond, on motion of Devers, was

referred to the City Attorney.
Bill No. 58 by Farrar, entitled, "An Ordinance to establish a Local lateral
Sewer Improvement District in.the City of Caldwell, Idaho, to provide for the appolA-
ment of a sewerage committee and conferring upon them certain powers, to provide for
the construction of a system of lateral sewerage and sewerage disposal works in said
improvement district ", was read the first time.
A motion wgs made by 1:arris that the rules be suspended and the readings on
three separate days be dispensed with and that Bill No. 56 be read the second time by
title and the third time in full and placed on its .final passage. The roll. being
called on the motion, the vote resultedt

Bill No. 58 read third third time in full and placed on its final passage.
On the question, Shall Bill No. 58 pass? the roll being called, the vote. resulteds
Ayes -- Devers, Farrar, Gartin, Harris, Paynter - -5.
Nays - -O. Absent -- Clark. So Bill No. 58 passed, becoming Ordinance No. 174.
Bill No. 59 by Farrar, entitled, "An Ordinance to establish a local Lateral
sewerage improvement district in the City of Caldwell, Idaho, to provide for the
appointment of a sewerage committee and conferring upon them certain powers, to provide
for the construction of a system of lateral sewerage and sewerage disposal works in
said improvement district", was read the first time.

by title and the third time in full and placed on its final passage. The roll being

Nays - -0. Absent -- Clark. So Bill No. 59 passed, becoming Ordinance No. 175.
Bill No. 60, by Farrar, entitled, "An Ordinance providing for the hitching of
h6r =.es, mules or teams, in the City of Caldwell, Idaho, and providing a penalty for
the violation of thie ordinance" was read the first time.
A motion was made by Harris that the rules be gluspehsed - ,rith and the readings
on three separate days be dispensed with and that Bill No, 60 be read the second time
by title and the third time in full and placed on its final passage. The roll being
called on the motion, the vote resulted:
Ayes -- Devers, Farrar, Gartin, Harris, Paynter - -5.
Nays - -0. Absent -- Clark. So the motion prevailed.
Bill No.60 read second time by title.
Bill No. 60 read third time in full, and placed on its final paASage. On the
question, Sball Bill No. 60 pass? the roll being called, the vote resulted:
Ayes -- Devers, Farrar, Gartin, Harris, Paynter - -5.
Nays - -O. Absent -- Clark. So Bill No. 60 passed, becoming Ordinance No. 176.
The Mayor appointed Paynter, Gartin, and Farrar a sewerage committee, to have
charge of Local Lateral Sewarag Districts No. $ and 3.
Voted, on motion of Gartin, that the City Clerk be instructed to notify the
property owners and agents in Local Improvement District No. 1, to put in rain pipes
to convey rain water from the roofs of the buildings and under the walks through the
curbing into the alley gutters; and that they remove all obstructions from said alleys
and said alley sidewalks, including wooden stairxays, stn., and that the asme be done

A motion was made by Farrar that all claims for erroneous weed cutting asessamen
laid on the table. The roll being called on the motion, the vote resulted:
Ayes -- Devers, Farrar, Gartin, Harris, Paynter - -5.
Nays - -0. Absent -- Clark. 90 the motion prevailed.

A motion was made by Harris that the claim of H. Reinemer for erroneous
wend assessment in the sum of $3.75 be alloaued on the road fund. The roll being
called on the motion, the vote resulted:
Ayes -- Devers, Farrar, Gartin, Harris, Paynter - -5.
Nays - -0. Absent -- Clark. So the motion prevailed.
Voted, on motion of Farrar that the police Porc be cut down one man.
The reports of officers for the months of April and May were read and on motion
of Devers accepted and ordered filed.
Bill No. 43, by Clark, entitled, "An Ordinance granting a franchise to the

Caldwell Traction Company, limited, its sucessors or assigns, over and across certain
streets in the City of Caldvre;l, Idwl.o, for the construction and maintenance and
operation of an electric, cable or motor power railway; providing the manner in which
said Railway Company, its successors or assigns, shall cinstruct its lines in said
city, limiting the liability of said city for the carelessness or negligence of said
railway company, its officers, agents, servants, employees, seccessors or assigns,
and repealing Ordinances numbered ninety(90) , ninety -seven (97), and one hundred
sixteen (115), approved April 3rd, 1907, and August 6th, 1907, and August 15th, 1908,
respectively ", was read the second tine.
A motion was made by Paynt, that the rules be suspended and the readings on
three separate days be dispensed with and that Bill No. 43 be read the third time by
title and placed on its final passage. The roll being called on the motion, the vote
resultedr

Nays - -0. Absent-- Clark. So the motion prevailed.

Nays - -0. Abeent -- Clark. So Dill No. 43 passed, becuming Ordinance No. 177.
A motion was made; by Devers that the City stand the expense of placing tiling
under the walks and through the curbing where necessary to convey general lateral
ditch water. The roll being called on the motion, the vote resulted:
Ayes -- Devers, Farrar, Gartin, Harris, Paynter - -5.
Nays - -0. Absent -- Clark. So the motion prevailed.
The Clerk was instructed to acknowledge roceipt of the invitation from Boise
to attend her Fourth of July= entertainment and take part in the parade, accepting the
Same.
The following election officers were then appointed for the Special Bond
Election to be held July 7, 1910,
First Ward -- Judges, W. C. Maxey, John Steunenberg, J. M. Patton; Clerks,
Zilpha Miller, Ida H. Beal; Distributing Clerk, Cora H. Bach.
Second Ward -- Judges, &Anry C. Babb, Wn. Kinl;aid, J. G. Cowden; Clerks,
Mary D. Parker, Willie Wilson; Distributing Clerk- -Clara Powell.

Voted, on motion of Paynter, thot Cound 1 adbourn until June 27, 1910, at
S P. m.
