The City Council met pursuant to a published noticd for the purpose of hearing protests to the proposed local Street Improvement District # 17, with the Mayor Ed;_ar L. Oakes, presiding. On Roll Call the following Councilmen 'answered present; 7. E.Babcock, M.S. Randmeyer, w.7. Handford and C. LT• renrich. Absent; C. 0. McDannel and Oscar Stengel. Thereupon the Fa - or announced that this was the t'me for the consideration of protests filed agai -nst the creation of Local Street Improvement District # 17. Mr. S ^hn Flynn appeared in behalf of the protestants and filed a petition show- ing that more than tcothirds of the owners of the abutting, adjoining, contiguous and adjacent lots and lands protested to the proposed improvements in L. I. D. � 17. Thereupon councilman Sandmeyer made a motion, it appearing that more than two - thirds of the owners of lots and lands within the proposed Improvement District ' 17 having filed their protest to the proposed Improvements that the Council should not proceed - urtherr iwith the work in said Improvement District # 17, which motion was seconded by councilman Fenrich A yea and Nay vote was had thereon with the following res yea: B,tcock, H Fenrich ' Sandmeyar. Nay: None. Absent and not voting: McDannel and Stengel. Mr.Anail Steunenberg appeared and thanked the City for mowing the weeds at the Walker Air -port. Mr. Cattl Kitchen appeared before the Mayor a nd council and presented a bid for codifying the Ordinances of the City of Caldwell, This matter nvas left on the table, There being no further business to come before the Council it was moved by Councilman Sandmeyer, speconded by Council man Fandford that Council adjourn. On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered: W.E.Ba::cock, C. 0. McD Oscar Stengel, M.S.Sandmeyer and C. M, renrich. Absent W.E. Handfofid. BE IT RE'ROLVE'', that the following is an estimate of the expenditures of the City of Caldwell for the fiscal year 1940 -1941, and that the following be, and is, hereby adopted, and the following is an estimate prepared by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Caldwell, Canyon Coy +nty, Idaho, for the proLable amount of money necessary for all purposes to be raised by taxation in the City during the year beginning the first day of May, 1940, including proncipal and interest due on bonded indebtedness and sinking funds, itemizing and classifying the a averalbranches of expenditures as nearly as may be, to- wit: For the City Fall, including salaries, maintenance and operation--------------------------- - -- - -- 2,000.00 Mayor and Council, including salaries ------»--- ----....... 600.00 City Clerk, including salaries and incidentals------ - - - - -- 2,500.00 City Treasurer, including salaries and 1,500.00 incidentals City Engineer, including salaries and incidentals--- - - - - -- 600.00 City Attorney, including salary and incidentals----- - - - - -- 1,050.00 Health Department----------------------------------- - - - - -- 1,250.00 Fire Department, including salaries, maintenance and incidentals----------------------------------------- - - - - -- 11,000.00
