COUNCIL mej in regular session pursuant to adjournment with Uayur w Gkwuh War +l presiding, the following Cou.,oilmen were present: Dickens, Dunlap, Fouling, Hayman, Moore and gnt'Wn. Mr Bollman of the Shank Auto Cc appeared before the Council requesting permission to use the walls that were left satanding after the fire and on motion same was referred to the Fire Committee. H B Rumford and Glen Beatty requested extension of the sprinklo system on 6th. Street and on motion same was referred to the Street Committee. The Chief of Police was instructed to certain residents of Grant and Dearborn street to oonnect with the sewer immediately. On motion of Moore seconded by Hayman b I Flyers was authorized to write Insurance on new Auto Sprinkler for ti6000.00 The petition of Bun Black et al for the opening of Grant Street was referred to the Park Committee and the City Attorney. This being the time set for protests against the establishing of Local sewer district, the clerk was instructed to read the affidavit of publication in the-Caldwell Tribune the official paper of Caldwell, Ida$o. and there being no protests filed on motion of Dickens seconded by Hayman it was voted to proceed with the establishment of the district. The roll being called on the motion the aete was as follows; Ayes Dickens, Dunlap, Fouling, Hayman, Iioore. Absent, Sutton. The mayor announced that the motion had carried. Councilman Sutton appeared at this time. The matter of the creating of a general purchasing agent for all the departments of the city coming up, on motion of Sutton seoonded,by Fouling the City Clerk was appointed? Council met in regular session pursuant to adjournment of the 12th. with Mayor 9 Grant - ..ard presiding; the following councilmen were present; Dickens. Dunlap, Fehling, - Hayman, moors and ;;utton. Og motion Hayman seconded by Dunlap the clerk was instructed to notify the various bond houses that the Council would at its meeting June 24th. M -1 receive proposals for bonds for the spacial improvement bonds to be issued by the city, Unconditional certified check for ten thousand dollars on some local bank to accompany each bid; The roll being called the vote was as followw; Ayes Dickens, Dunlap. r'euling, Hayman, Ucore and Sutton. Idaho, that the said city latendo to issue and sell the following municipal improvement coupon bonds of said city namely: of Municipal street improvement coupon bands of tllaa44y ofthe city Caldwell, in the county of Canyon in the state of Idaho, to an amount agregating the principal sum of $52,000.00 comprdsed of 52 bonds numbered consecutively from 1 to 52, both numbers inclusive pf the denomination of 01000.00 each, to be dated on or about July let, I D. 1919, and be payable within twenty years from the adte of issuance and at Such time or times, as may be determined at the AxIm ti of sale. PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN That sealed binds for said issue of the bonds aforesaid will be received at the office of the city clerk of said city, untib Monday, to -wit the 21st. day of July, A D, 1919 at the hour of 9 O'clock P M. All tenders, bids of offers to purchase must be without conditions or qualifications, and be accompanied by the cash ( or its equivalent) to the full amount of said bids or an unconditional certified check on some Caldwell bank, payable to the order of the city treasurer for ;'5000.00 to be forfeited to the city as liquidatedp damages should the successful bidder fail or refuse to atke up and pay for the bonds within ten days after the notice by the city of it's readiness to deliver daid bonds; PROVIDED, however that said bonds or any part thereof shall not be sold for less than their face value or par value and accrued interest at the time of disposal by the city treasurer, under the general supervision of the mayor and city council. Said bidders will be required to furnish blank bonds ready for execution. Each of said bonds and each of the coupons attached thereto shall be duly and regularily issued in form and contents in conformity with chapter 159 of the compiled laws of the state of Idaho, and acts amendatory thereto. The said notice shall be the same as hereby ordered, published at least once each week for a period of not less than 4 (four) consecutive calendar weeks prior to the 21st. day of July, A D. 1919 in the CALD TRIBUNE and the city Clerk is hereby ordered, authorized and directed to cause said notice to be published as herein above mentioned and procure proof of said publication in the form pd publishers affidavit one of which he shall preserve as a partn of the records and file in his office, and the other of which he shall furnish to the purchaser of said bonds. At this time Councilman Dunlap asked to be excused which request El was granted. On motion of Dickens seconded by Sutton the City Attorney was granted permission to employ extra stenographer on account of extra work in connection with paving and other ordinances. On motion of Hayman seconded by Fouling The City Attorney was authorized to offer Mesa Hanna and,iiadden the sum of yA700, for right of way through Hardy Addition for seventh and Grant streets and the sum of $300. for the triangular piece bounded by those two streets and Memorial Park. and in case they refused offer for streets to start condemnation proceedings The roll being called on the above motion the vote was; Ayes Dickens, Fouling, Hayman, Moore ans Sutton. Absent Dunlap.
