Monday, June "17, 1912. Council met in regular session pursuant to ad-
journment with Mayor Griffiths, presiding, and Councilmen Adam, Adams, Bardaley,
Stunenberg, Walker, Zeh, present; C. J. Shorb, Clerk.
Voted, on omotion of Bardslay, that the bide for fire apparatus be opened
and considered.
Four bide had been filed in accordance with the call, as follows:
American La Prance Fire Engine Co., $9,150, f.o.b. Caldwell.
Knox Automobile Co_ $8,500 f.o.b. factory.
Webb Motor Fire Apparatus Co., $8,950 f.o.b. Caldwell. -
Victor Motor Truck, Co, $7,700 f.o.b. factory.
Voted, on motion of Zeh that the fire apparatus bids be taken under con-
sideration until Wednesday night.
Voted, on motion of Adams, that bide for cement crossings be opened and con-
side
Four bids had been filed in accordance with call, as follows:
Terry & Glenn, $33 per crosswalk ant r5 cents per yard for fills.
Calkins & Bingham, 432.50.per cross walk.
W. A. McGee, $5 per crossing complete.
A. K. Beaty,$38 per crossing.
Voted, on motion of Zeh, that the bide for cement crossings be referred to
the street committee with authority to accept lowest and best bid.
A.T. Plummer appeared before the council asking permission to run a pea-
nut and popcorn stand on the streets.
Voted, on motion of Zeh, that the matter be referred t the street committee.
Voted, on motion of Zeh, that a claim in the sum of 038,45 be presented to the
Pioneer Irrigation District for their share of the expense for constructing a syphon
across Cleveland boulevard at Ninth Avenue.
Voted, on motion of Bardeley, that council aQ ourn until Wednesday, June 19,
1918, at B p.m.

Voted, on motion of Adams, that the council go into executive session,
The fire committee then made a verbal report stating tLat after the thorough
examitation'of the machines proposed it had come to the conclusion that the Webb machine
was the beat presented and recommended its purchase, provided that it meets with the
requirements of the fire underwriters test.
A motion was then made by Stunenberg the report of that fire committee be
accepted and approved and that the proper officers be instructed to enter into a con-
tract with the A ebb Fire Apparatus Co, of St.Louis, Mo. for the machine as given in
its plans and specifications, subject to he proviso of the fire committee, The roll
