Pursuant% to adjournment of the Regular Monthly Meeting of June 1, 1942., tme
Council met in the Council Room of the City Hall with the Mayor, H. E. McCluakey, pre-
siding;
On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present. Thurlow Bryant, C. 0.
McDannel, H.E.Fraskier,- Wilbur Dakan. Abaentp Floyd-Blunt and F.T. Newman.
Mr. C$F1-�Iitchen presented a plan for codifying the Ordinances•of the City pf
Caldwell.
Moved by Frasher. seconded try Bryant that the Mayor and Council accept the
proposal 4W codify the Ordinances for $500 as presented by Mr. $itchep, also, the print.

Mr. George Hammar, representing City Employees, appeared and petitioned for
an increase in wages.
The Mayor informed Mr. Hasmar this matter would be taken under consideration.
The Mayor appointed Mr. J. F. LaFond and Mrs. A. I. Myers on the LIBRARS[,BOARD,
Dr. W.B. Handford on the SKIMMING POOL BOARD and Dr. G. W. Montgomery as HEALTH PHYSICIA
Moved by Daken, seconded by McD.nnel that these appointments be confirmed.
Motion carried.
Moved by Bryant,seconded by Fresher that the City Attorney be authorized to
publish a- notice calling for bids on the abandoned bridge across Boise River at Curtis
Park. Motion oarried.

Of expenditures of the City of Caldwell for the fiscal year beginning the first day of
May 1942. The saidestimate and to m levy being in excess of 10 =ilia for general pur-
poses.

matter of the proposed estimate and tax levy. There tie was no one to speak either for
or against the proposed estimate.

Thereupon Councilman Bryant introduced Bill No 1, entitled;
AN ORDINANCE TERMED THE ANNUAL APPWTRIATION BILL APPROPRIATING MONEY IN SUCH
SUPS AND SUMS AS ARELEEKED NECESSARY TO DEFRAY ALL PROPER EXPENSES AND LIABILITIES OF /THE
CITY OF CALDWELL, IDAHO, NOT OTHERWISE PROVIDED FOR FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING -MAY 1,
1942,.PURSOANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 49 --17a, IDAHO CODE ANNCFTATED, 1932.

There being no further business to come before the Council it was moved by
Bryant ; seconded b y Fresher that Council adjourn. Motion carried.

The Regular Monthly Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Room of the
City Ball, with the Mayor R.E. McCluakey presiding.
On Roll C the following Councilmen answered present: Mhurlow Bryant, Wilbur
Dakan, F. E. Newman, E. E. Fresher and :'C. 0. McDannel. Absent; Floyd Blunt...
The Minutes of June lat., and 15th., were read and approved as read.
Mr. Jim Vermaas appeared and presented a petition for a franchise to operate a
bus service in the City of Caldwell which said petition was filed with the City Qlerk on
the 24th day of June 19f,Z .
The matterwas thoroughly discussed and considered by the Council and Mr. Vermeas
wasadvised that the Council did not have at this time adequate information on which a
franchise could be drawn but that he might use the streets of C for said purpose for
a period of 120 days after initiating said service in order that information and data could
be obtained by the Council todstermine what should be properly required and provided in
behalf of the public. It was understood that Mr. Vermaaa would use only buses for this
purpose which were covered by liability insurance.
The Bills for June were read and on motion by Bryant, seconded by Fresher that
these - Bills be allowed and warrants be ordered drawn for the various amounts all of which
had been approved by the Chairman of the Finance Committee. Motion carried.
