Roll call of Councilmen was had and the following answered presents M. s. Sendmeyer, A. G. Keieter, Joe Dickens, E. L. Vassar, U. M. Johnston and C. E. Bales. Absent none. appeared before the Ooanoil and asked that the Special Taxes An Late ill 9 to 12, Block 48, V be cancelled. Moved by Vassar and seconded by Dickens that the Mayor appoint a committee of two to look into the matter. Motion carried. The Mayor appointed sandmeyer and Vassar as this committee. M. H. Eastaoe then outlined the matter on Local Improvement District No. 2, and l Introduced Walter H. Hodges, of Seattle, special Attorney for the Bond Holders of Bonds of L. 1. D. No. 2. Mr. Hodges then went into the matter very thoroughly, and asked the Mayor and Oity Council to re- assess the property in this District to raise the deficiency in this District,! The City Council convened persuant to the call of the Mayor, for the purpose of , opening bids on the Tourist park. Mayor, -Fred Z. Lilly presiding. The Clerk eallAd the roll of the Councilmen and the following answered present; M. S. Sandmeyer, Joe Dickens, Art Keister. Carl Johnston, 0. E. Bales and E. L. Vassar. l Absent none. A letter was read from Walter H. Hodges, Seattle Attorney, asking that the City pay certain assessments in Local improvement Districts No. 2 and No 4. These being the asseee- meats on the Public Library in L. 1. D. No. 2 and the City Hall in L. I. D. No. 4. Mr. Hodges also asked that the Oity Treasurer proceed at once to take Tax Deed to all property in Local Improvement Districts No. 2, no. 3, and No. 4 on which the assessments had not been paid. eaticu These matters were carefully oonsidered by the Counoil but no definite /was taken. 4.f' dune 15, 1937. M. FOR THE PURPOSE OF GRANTING A PUBLIC HEARING, BEFORE THE APPROPRIETION BILL PROVIAL DED FOR IN SECTION 40 OF THE COMPILED STATUTES OF THE STATE OF IDAHO AND CHAPTER 158 OF THE IDAHO SESSION LAWS FOR 1927, SHALL BE PASSER BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL; A,CQPY I ,I OF WHICH SA ID ESTIMATE OF THE PROPOSED APPROPRIATION BILL IS FULLY SET FORTH AT LENGTH UPON THE MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL HELD ON JUNE 15, 1931; THE SAID LEVY FOR GENERAL LEVY PURPOSES BEING ®N EXCESS OF TEN MILLS. the City of VHEREAS, At a regular meeting of the City Council of /Oaldwell, held on the 15th. day of June, 1931, an estimate of the probable amount of money necessary for all pur- poses to be raised in the City of Caldwell, Idaho, during the fiscal year beginning the first Tue'aday of May, 1931, including principal and interest due on the bonded debt and sinking, fund, itemizing and classifying the different objects and branches of expenditure as near as may be, with a statement of the entire revenue ofthe city for the previous fiscal year, was submitted to said Mayor and City Council by the Finance Committee, and F� which said estimate was entered at length upon its minutes; and WHEREAS, Motion was duly made, seconded and carried, that proper resolution be drawn fixing the time for a public meeting fur hearing protests against said proposed appropriation bill and giving due notice thereof:, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL, IDAHO: Section 1. Those voting in the negative none. Absent none. Whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried and Resolution No. 1 adopted, and direct- ad the Clerk to record the same upon the Journal offthe proceedings of the council as a part of the minutes of this meeting. Thereupon the Mayor in open session oftbe Council duly approved and signed the same and the.Clerk duly attested the said Resolution. Moved by Keister and seconded by Dickens that the Mayor appoint-a, committee of three , with power to act, to see the two highest bidders and arrange,-to-sell the cabins located in Memorial Park. Motion carried. The Mayor appointed Sandmeyer, Vassar and Bales. The Clerk read a letter from Edward Sisson relative to the City paying a half of the last half of the 1930 taxes, on the lands recently bought for Cemetery - purposes. Moved by Johnson and seconded by Dickens that the City Council accept Mr. Sisson's n r j check for 8 39.61 and that the Council pay the other half of the last half of the 1930 taxes. Motion carried. The 'Clerk read an offer from the Caldwell Plumbing and Heating Co. for installing a new boiler and stoker for heating the City Hall all complete for 1256:00; less $ 60.00 allowance for the old boiler. Moved by Vassar and seconded by Bales that this offer be accepted ,ate that .the Mayor be authorized to have the boiler and Stoker installed, Motion carried. kf � June 15, 1931 On motion of Dickens and seconded by Vassar the Couboil stood adjourned. ar Sa — yor COUNCIL CHAMBERS, JUNE 24, 1931 8:00 P. M. The City Council met persuant to a call by the Mayor with Mayor Fred L. Lilly presiding. On roll call of the Councilmen, the following answered present: Sandmeyer, Keieter, Bales, Dickens and Johnson. Absent Vassar. The purpose of the meeting was to open the bids presented for the purpose of oiligd approximately 72,000 sq. yards of streets in Local Improvement Districts Nos. 12 and 13. Two bide were received , opened and reed as follows: Morrison- Knudsen Co. bfBoise bid 28 cents per Square Yard or a 'total of $ 20,160.0 The Idaho Contracting Co. of Boise bid 32 cents per Square Yard or a total of $ 23,o4o.00.' E. L. Vassar came into the meeting at this time and was marked present. Motion made by'Sandmeyer and seconded by Dickens that the above bide be taken under advisement until further meeting ofthe Council. Notion carried. Mr. Shaver representing the Idaho Contracting Oo and Mir. Olsen representing the Morrison- Knudsen Cc consented that the cheeks tendered as per bids be retained by the Council until such time as matter was definitely settled. On motion properly made and seconded the meeting stood adjourned. Clark or COUNCIL ORAMHERB,JULY 7, 1931 8 :00 P. M. The City Council met in Ragalar Monthly meeting, with Mayor Fred L. Lilly presiding. Cn Roll Call of Councilmen, the following answered present: M. 3. sandmeyer , A. G. Keieter, E. L. Vassar and Joe Dickens, Absent 0. M. Johnston and U. E. Base. A Committee from the Forward Club, composed of Mrs uarris ateunenberg, Mrs John Guppies and Mrs Ancil Steunenberg, appeared before the council and asked that the Council memorial donate thw sum of M$ 50.00 on a swing for the wmFwrxr Park. Moved by sandmeyer and seconded by Diokene that the request of the above committee be granted and that when the swing is ready for installation that this City Council give the sum of i 50.00. MMotion Carried. The Clerk read the Minutes for June let., June 8th., June 15th., and June 24th. on motion made by Vassar and seconded by Diokens the above Minutes were approved.
