I 2 Ci y ler Council Chamber, City of Caldwell, Idaho, June 1°f, 1916. Council meet in regular session, pursuant to adjornment with ISayor Fred C. Boyes, presiding, Councilman AcIrley, Dement, Forb::s, Farrington, Hayman and Sanberg present,' 3. Ben Dunlap, Clerk, when the following business was transacted: Councilman Forbes submitted the report for the Committee appointed to examine the bids received on a power sprinkler and flusher, stating that the committee had meet Monday evening and thoroughly examined the different bids and claims of the pereons bidding,' and had found the bid of the Auto Machine Company of Caldwell, Ida:no, to be the best proposition submitted. A motion was made by Councilman Ackley that the report of the Committee be accepted and that the Committee be discharged. The motion was duly seconded by Councilman Dement and oarried. Upon request the Clerk again read the bid of the Auto Machine Company. A motion was made by Forbes that the bid of the Auto Machine Company be accepted, said bid appearing to be the cheapest and best, and that the machine described therein be i purchased provided that if upon demonstration said machine proved to be satisfactory to the Council. The motion was seconded by Councilman Harrington. A yes and nay vote being called for was taken, and resulted as follows: Ayes - Ackley, Dement, Forbes, Harrington, Sanberg -6. Eayes Hayman -1. Absent -alone. A majority having voted in favor of the motion the Edayor declared the same carried. Councilman Forbes suggested that the City take immediate stops to cut the weeds In the principal streets of the City. The matter was left in the hands of the . Street Committee with power to act. Councilman Ackley suggested that there were a number of residences in the sewer districts which were not connected with the sewer and that steps be imynediately taken to 3n£oroe the law in this respect. The matter was referred to the City Attorney with a request that he take immediate steps to abate such nuisances. -81� Councilman Forbes state-2 that the bridge on Tenth _:venue should be widened as, in its present condition, it was menace to the safety of the traveling public. It was voted upon motion of Ackley that the City Engineer be instructed to submit estimates of the cost of widening this bridge. It was suggested that the City -1agineer submit estimates on a permament l and also on a piling bridge. The Mayor stated that it had been suggested to him that the Council room on the ground floor of the City Hall be made into a rest room for the ladies and childron and that the Council meetings and Court be held on the third floor. He stated that the Commercial Club and Forward Club were willing to provide the necessary furniture for the rest room. It was voted upon motion of Forbes that the Llayor appoint a committee of two meet with the clubs and ascertain their views in the matter. Tne Uayor appointed Hayman and Ackley. It was voted upon motion of Forbes that the petition be referred to the ±'ire Committee. The minutes of the sassions held during the month of June, 1916, were read and it was voted upon motion of Harlington that the same be approved. - The following bills which had been o.k'd by the Finance Committee, were read d it was voted upon motion of Harrington that the same be allowed and warrants be dared drawn on the various funds in payment of the some as fellows; GENIsi..AL FUND S.
