The Council met in regular ses;:ion pursuant to adjournment with L*yor Smeed, pree ding, Councilmen, Feuling, Harmon, Kimbrough, LPumford, & Robb, present, and Wheeler, absent. r: It was voted on motion of Harmon, seconded by Feuling, that the Clerk keep a check in and out of all gasoline used. 0CI H.N.Quast, represeneting the 4th of July Bommittee of the Commercial Club, asked fol the Concessions for that day, so it was voted on motion of P.imbrough, seconded by Harmon, that the ooncessions be granted that Committee and they in turn to work with the Merchants for the betterment of all concerned. W.H.Blunt and L.J.Mitchell, representing the Commercial Club, and R,W,Oakes J " , i Merchattte Retial Association , ur#ed the Council to fit up a better Tourist Park. No Ection J d was taken on this matter. It waa.voted on motion of Feuling, seconded by 3obb, that the Chief -of- Police be l' compensated $25 a month for th use of his oar. It was voted on motion of Kimbrough, seconded by Uumford, that V eiling be authroiz d to install the necessary alarm system from the City " ater Pumpsto t1ie City Hall and also to the home of the Water Superintendent. w The 1 syor appointed Mumford, as the Band Committeeman, and on motion of Kimbroug , seconded by J �euling, and carried, the appointment was donfirmed.• It was voted on motion of Lfitmford, seconded by Harmon, that the Auditors report Is accepted and ordered published. As it appealed from the estimate of the Budget submitted that it would require more II than a 10 mill levy to raise sufficient money forthe City of Ualdwell for the fiscal ear 1923 -4, it was voted on motion of Medford, seconded by Robb,that the City Council ca 5l a public meeting of qualified voters of said City as authroized in Chapter 157 Idaho Set Sion Laws of 19 3 for the u ose of authorizing P Y'P said City Council to make s levy in eddit on to the levy as providdd by said law that said meeting will be held in the City Halle Jule 29th ,1923 at 8 P.M. and that the Clerk be d1redted togive necessary notices as prescribed y said law for said meeting . Resolutions T1 &2 by Harmon & Kimbrough respectively were presented and on motion of Kimbrough,.saoonded by Harmon, the same were adopted as follows: - RESOLUTION :d0A Whereas, the City of Caldwell,IdaLto, did, by quit -claim deed receive the lands an posit premises herein described, from the record omlers thereof, said d®eds being reo rded in the office of the Canyon County Rsoorder on the 9th day of LParoh, 1923, and said lands and premises being described as gallows topwit- Blacks 21 and 23 of Fair Acres Addition to the City of Caldwell,Idaho, as the same appear on the official plat of said Fair Acres Addition to the City of Caldwell,now on file End record in the office df the Canyon County Recorder.Lots 1 & 2 of Block 22, all of Blo 24, Lots,,3,4,5,6,12,19, & 20 of Block 26,Lots 8 to 24 both inclusive of Block 28,LotE 8 to Il 24 both inclusive in Block 31, all in Hasbroucks addition to Caldwell; all of Block 138 Strahorn Addition to Caldwell according to the official plat of both of said additi=4 to Caldwell on file in the office of the Canyon Cow.ty Recorder, and, Whereas, the Oity did through its proper officials accept said deeds to said abov described lands and premises, and, Whereas. prior to said acceptance of said lands the said City did assess against said lands, certain special improvement taxes and assessments, and, Whereas, all of said assessments so made and certified to the County Treasurer o Canyon County have become delinqu®r1t, and, Whereas, it is to the best interests of said City to have the said recmrds cleared of said delinqueht assessments, 11oe, Therefore, be it resolved by the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell, State of Idaho, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby instructed to mike the proper certifio- ation to the said County Treasurer so as toproeure the cancellation of all of such assessments against said lands and premises. �1 RESOLUTION N0.2 Whereas, the loss of life and property from the careless and unrestrained Firing of firecrackers, and other noise malting explosives each year before and after and during t6 oele',ration of I1MMPBTMF110E DAY, is to a large extent unnecessary and due to a proper regualtion and control lackness, 14ow,Therefore, be it resolved by the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell: That the firiAg of Firecrackers, Sky Rockets, and any and all other explosives within the Fire Limits of the City of Caldwell, shall be and is hereby declared to be unlawful before six o'clook P.M. on the 3rd day of July, and after 12 o'clook midnight on the 4th of July, 1923.
