Pursaaet to adjournment of June 6th, the City Council met in the Council Chambers of the City Hall. Upon Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present: Fran Blomquist, Max Luby, Emile Shorb, L. P. Eldredge and Leland Finley. Absent E. L. Vassar. In the absence of the Mayor and President of the Council,Fran Blomquist acted as Mayor. Councilman Eldredge discussed proposed wage changes and recommended a careful study be made and a .,plan worked out that would be fair to all employees• Mayor Siimmerman entered and presided over the balance of the meeting. Discussion was held on hh or 48 hour week. No action v:a taken. Moved by Shorb, seconded by Luby the Irrigation Budget be approved. Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried. Moved by Shorb, seconded by Blomquist the Library Budget be approved. Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried. Moved by Blomquist, seconded by Finley the Fire Budget be approved and the wage structure studied ,later. Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carr$1. The Mill Levy for 1957 -1958 was set at 39 mills. Moved by Blomquist, seconded by Eldredge the 1957 -1958 Budget be in the amount of S 6lm8,530.04- Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried. Whereupon Councilman Eldredge presented the following Resolution and moved the adoption thereof, which motion was duly seconded by Councilman Blomquist. BE IT RESOLVED, That the following is an estimate of the expenditures of the City of Caldwell for the fiscal year 1957 -1958, and that the following be, and is hereby adopted, and the following is an amount of money necessary for all purposes to be raised by taxation in the City of Caldwell. during the year begin- ning hay 1, 1957, including principal and interest due on bonded indebtedness and sinking funds. Thereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried and Resolution adopted R E S O L U T I O N u By Councilman Eldredge I'I i A RESOLUTION CALLING A PUBLIC MEETING FOR THURSDAY, JUNE 27, 1957, AT 5:00 O'CLOCK P.M., IN THE CITY HALL IN CALDWELL, IDAHO, FOR THE PURPOSE OF GRANTING A PUBLIC HEARING PURSUANT TO SECTION 50 -1917, IDAHO CODE,BEFORE I� THE APPROPRIATION BILL PROVIDED FOR IN SAID SECTION SHALL BE PASSED BY THE h%YOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 1 CALDWELL, IDAHO, A COPY OF THE ESTIMATE OF THE PROPOSED APPROPRIATION BILL BEING FULLY SET FORTH AT LENGTH UPON THE MITTUTES OF A REGULAR 11RETING OF THE h9AYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL, IDAHO, HR.T.n ON JUNE 7, 1957; THE SAID LEVY FOR GEN LEVY PURPOSES BEING IN EXCESS OF TEN MILLS. 7RERE4S, at a special meeting of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, held on the 7th day of June, 1957, an estimate of the probable amount of money necessary for all purposes to be r- raised in the City of Caldwell, Idaho, during the fiscal year beginning Bay 1, 1957, and ending blay 1, 1958,'' I i including principal and interest due on the bonded debt and sinking fund, itemizing and classifying the dif -9 ferent objects and branches of expenditures as near as may be, with the statement of the entire revenue of said city for the previous fiscal year, was submitted to the said Mayor and City Council by the Finance Committee and which said estimate was entered at length upon the minutes of said meeting of the Mayor and I j City Council; and WHEREAS, said Mayor and City Council desire that proper resolution be drawn granting and fixing the time for a public meeting for hearing protests against said proposed appropriation bill and give due notice thereof; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Mayor and City Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho: a il I Section 1, That the Mayor and City Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, have determined that it will require a tax levy for general revenue purposes in excess of ten mills to raise sufficient money for l general purposes as provided by law for the fiscal year beginning May 1, 1957, and ending May 1, 1958, and as is more fully shown by the estimate of expenditures of the City of Caldwell, Idaho. i Section 2. That before the passage of said appropriation bill and before said levy be made, a I II public hoaxihF, be granted, and that said public hearing upon said estimate and proposed appropriation bill his hereby called and ordered to be held at the City Hall of said City at the hour of 5:00 o'clock P.11. on the 27th day of June, 1957. i! Thereupon the Mayer declared the motion carried and the Resolution adopted. The questim of sprinkling the Rodeo Grounds was brought up by Councilman Finley.
