The plans and purposes of Idaho Meat Producers, Inc., are hereby approved and endorsed, as a project worthy of the favorable consideration and support of all citlze of the City of Caldwell, Naha. Section 2. The producers end pitizens sponsoring this enterprise are entitled to the full confidence and support of the citizens of this oo:rLnunity in their effort to promote and establish this industry in the City of Caldwell. M i The Regular Monthly Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Rooms of the City Mal, with the Mayor, Emery L. Vassar, presiding. On Roll Call, the following Councilmen answered present: Edgar L. Oakes, 0. E. Bales, W. S. Boynton, G. W. Montgomery, G. M. Fenrioh and W. R. Hollingsworth. The Minutes of May let. and May Pth, were read and approved as read. George B. Middleton and Martin Olson Jr were present and went over the Audit of the books and accounts of the Officers of the Oity for the year 1 93 2 1 933• Mr. Middleton also presented his sealed bid for auditing the books and accounts for the ensuing year and also for the ensuing two years. Byron Defenbach was also present and presented his bid for auditing the books and accounts for the aasuing year and for the ensuing two years. Wm. Mason appeared and entered a protest against a cow being allowed to be paetu along and over the sidewalk on Dearborn Street between 3rd. and 4th. Mr. Mason was assured that this matter would be looked into. This being the night for the second reading of Proposed Ordinance No. 507, it was moved by Montgomery and seconded by Hollingsworth that the Rules requiring the reading of of any Ordinance on three separate days be suspended and that Proposed Ordinance No. 507 be read the second time by title and'the third time in ful },�e?tion by section, and placed on its final passage. The Mayor directed the Clerk to oall/on the motion with the follow- ing results: Those voting in favor of the motion were; Oakes, Bales, Boynton, Montgomery, Fearich and Hollingsworth. Those opposed, None. Absent and not voting, None. The Mayor then declared the motion had oarried,by the necessary three - fourths majority and directed the Clerk to read the Proposed Ordinance the second time by title and the third time in. full, section by section. The Clerk zead the Proposed Ordinance as directed. The question than being, " Bha&1 the proposed Ordinance No. 507 pass". The Mayor directed the Clerk to call the Roll with the following resiult. Those voting in favor were: Oakes, Bales, Boynton Montgomery, Fenrioh and Hollingsworth. Those voting in the negative, None . Absent and not voting, None. Thereupon, the Mayor declared that the Proposed Ordinance No. 507 had passed, and the Mayor, in open session of the Council duly signed and approved the Ordinanl ce, and the Olerk duly signed and attested the same, which became Ordinance No. 507. 198 June 5. 1933 The Mayor then directed the Clerk to make proper entry of the same and to cause Ordinno No. 507 to be printed in the Caldwell Hews - Tribune, the official newspaper of the City of Caldwell, Idaho. The Mayor appointed the following: Mrs. W. T. Kimbrough on the Library Board to serve for a period of three years. On the Swimming Pool Oommittee, the Mayor appointed J. G. Conley, as Chairman, Frank Mumford, J. H. Lowell, Mrs. R. O. Pasley and Mrs. J. M. Oarl. On the Airport Committee, the Mayor is Chairman, and he appointed the following to serve with him: Frank Roberts, Dr. E. E. Dutton, 0. E. Bales and G. M. Fenrioh. The Mayor also made the following appointments: FIRE CHIEF, Doyle Fender CEMETERY John Roes. PARK SUPERINTENDENT, T. D. Finn. CARE OF CURTIS PAR$ , U. H. Howard OAHE OF DUMP GROUND, Bud Farmer. Moved by Montgomery and seconded by Boynton that the above appointments be confirm On Roml Call the following Councilmen voted in favor of the above motion: 0 ee, Bales, Boynton, Montgomery, Fenrioh and Hollingsworth. Those opposed, None. Absent ann not voting, None. 11 The Mayor asked the Obairmen of each Department to make a list of all articles under their charge, and if any article is bought,that article is to be added to the list and 'that the Mayor be given a list of these Inventories. The - Mayor appointed 0. E. Bales and E. L. Oakes as a committee to investigate the advisability of securing an additional Police oar. Moved by Hollingsworth and Seconded by Montgomery that the above committee be empowered to 'cot. Motion Carried. The bids for auditing were now opened and read as follows: The Gee. B. Middleton & 0o's bid was for a one yearts audit $ 225.00 and for a two year's audit $ 400.00. -Each of these was to be for semi - annual reports. Byron Befenbaohle bid was for a two yearts audit for $ 450.00. Moved by Hollingsworth and seconded by Boynton that the Clerk be authorized to write Byron Defenbach'giving him the audit for a period of two years, provided that he would consent to do the auditing for that time for the sum of 400.00, and further provid that he 'would give us an immediate audit. Motion Carried. W. Montgomery, W. 8: Boynton, Amos Miller, Frank Feeling and Henry $eh as a oommittes to investigate the advisability of lowering the water rant al from 1.50 to 0 1.00 par month, and to report back to the next meeting of the Council. 0 n ll 1.99 1 June 5, 1933 R. E. Wagner, accompanied by his Attorney, Hugh N. Caldwell, were present and-took up the matter of Garbage Contract with Mr. Wagner, explaining that people did not co - operate with the Garbage hauler, in that they did not separate what would be garbage and what is trash, tin Cana, broken glass etc. No official action was taken on the matter other than that the Mayor and Council agreed to co- operate with Mr. Wagner in every way possible. The Bills for May were read and on motion made by Fenrich and seconded by Mon that these Bills be allowed and Warrants were ordered drawn for the various amounts all of which had been approved by the Chairman of the Finance Committee.
