Th Council met in regular session, dune 2nd, 1924 '.at SP.M• with Mayor Smeed, absent, Presides of the Cmunoil Mumford, presiding,Counoilmen, Fouling, Harmon, Robb, & wheeler, present, & kimbro gh, absent. Mims es of the previous sessions were read and approved. F.G. iokett appeared and askeddpermission to place his Scales on 4th St.It was voted on motion ol Fouling, seconded by Robb, that this matter be left to 6troat Committeeman with power to act. It waE voted on motion of asxmon, seconded by 4 obb, that committee of two be appointed to investig to greivanoe of G.W.Liles, wherein the Idaho Power Co. wanted 0109.00 to run their line one blook to furnish Liles electricity. Wheeler & fouling were neamed on that committee. It was voted on motion of Harmon. seconded by dheeler, that Water �Iorks Committee make pre arations to add another Unit of Cast `ron 21pe to the Water Works System. Biel No.12 2was read for the second time. It was voted on motion of Harmon, seconded by Wheeler, that bills as approved be allowed gnd warrants ordered drawn on the various funds as follows: GENERAL FOND. $O. CITY CLERK. 1. 7 IL COUNCIL CHAFERS, JUNE 9TH,1924 The Council me� in regular session, pursuant to adjournment, June 9th', 1924 at 8 P.M. with Mayor sm ed, .pred�ding, Councilmen, �'euling, Harmon, Kimbrough, Mumford, Robb, & Wheeler, present. - H.D.EwnbiP Mi. �of the Chautauqua Committee,adked for Police Protection at the Chautauqua krou?ras c ux1ng`Chautauque week, in the form of having a man there all the time. It was voted on motion oJ Kimbrough, seconded by MuidSmrd, that in case the Chautauqua Association does not have enough mc ney to pay for this special police, that the Bity defray the same up to 9 21.00 11 was voted on motion of Kimbrough, seconded by Mnmdord, that Mayor appoint a ootmnittee of two tc investigate and report back to the Council as to need o$ placing light at 21st or 22nd and Blaine. Mayor appointed Wheeler & Fouling. The follciving Resoltition was presented: Whereas, the loss of life and property from the caveless and unrestrained firing of Firecrac era, and other noise making explosives each year before and after and during the celebration of INDEPENDENCE DAY is to a large extent unnecessary and due to a proper rega stion and oont of lacksless, Now, Therefore, be it resloved by the Mayor and Council of the "ity of Caldwell, Idaho, "*t th firing of Firecrackers. Skyrockets, and any and all other explosives within the Fire Limits of the City of Caldwell,Idaho, shall be and She is hereby declared to be unlawful before slo o'clock P.M. on the 3rd day of July.1924, and after midnight, 12o'clook on the 4th of July, 1924. ^ It was v Dted on motion of Mumford, seconded by 1heele a the above it esolution be adopted. As it ppeared from the estimate of the Budget submitted that it would require more than a 16 mill levy to raise sufficient money for the City of Caldwell for the fiscal year 1924-5, it was Voted on in otion of Kimbrough, seconded by Harmon, that the City Council call a public m eating of qualified voters of said City as authorized in Chapter 157 Idaho Session Laws of 1923 for the puprose of authorizing said City Council to make a levy in addition to the levy provided by said law that paid meeting will be held in the city Rall,July lat,1924waat 8 P.M., and that the Clerk be direot d to give necessary notices as presor bed by law for said meeting.
