That the said notice ®hall be the same as hereby ordered, and that the City Clark of the City of Caldwell Is hereby ordered, authorized and directed to cause said notice to be p °blished as hereinabove mentioned and to secure proof of said publicatic A "Yes" and "no" vote was had on said REsolution with the following results, to -wit: "Yes ": Bryant, Dakan, Newman, Fresher and McD "No ": None. COUNC IL MAMBERS, J= 1, 1942, 8:00 P.M. The Regular Monthly Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Room of the City H all, with the Mayor H,E, McCluskey presiding. On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present; Bryant, Dakan, Newman, Fresher and McD Absent: Blunt. The Minutes of May 4th., 11th., and 20th., were read and approvedas read. Dr. E. A.Tugaw, City Meat Inspector appeared'dbefore the Council and gave a report on the inspection of iueat and }sat Markets. It was voted upon motion duly made and seconded, that due to inability to convey Irrigation water to property occupied by the First National Bank of Caldwell, Mrs. Abbia Burnett, State Hi -way Garage and 1.0.11, Service Station that the City supply said proper- ties with from its mains for irrigation purposes during the irrigation season at regular minimum charge fee per meter per month plus an additional charge of fifty cents per meter - during the irrigation season. Motion carried. Moved by McDannel, a econded by Fresher that the City Engineer be authorized to purchase a second -hand car for the use of the Ditch Rider on the Irrigation Department, purohase price of said car to be $125. Motion carried. Councilman McDannel was excused from the Council. Thereupon the following Resolution was presented to the Mayor and Council by Councilman Bryant who moved the adoption thereof which motion was duly seconded by Council- man Fresher. RESOLUTION. BE IT R ESOLVED, by the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell, Canyon County, Idaho, that, WHEREAS, it appears that the wages and compensation of various employees of the City of Caldwell should be increased, NOW TRERE:'ORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, that employees, holding the following positions shall receive for services rendered to the City the amounts per month as heroinafter fixed, to -wit: Road, Foreman, S, P. Glenn $155.00 Road, Truckdriver, Ray Woolery 8'130.00 Shop, D. J, Winters $140.00 Water, Foreman, fi145.00 A You and tray vote was had thereon with the following result: "Yea ": Bryant, Newman and Frasher, "Nay ": Dakan, "Absent and not voting ": Blunt and McDannel, Whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried and the Resolution duly adopted. Pursuant to adjournment of the Regular Monthly Meeting of June 1, 1942., the Council met in the Council Room of the City Hall with the Mayor, H. E. McCluskey, pre - sldingi On Roll Ca11 the following Councilmen answered presents Thurlow Bryant, C. 0. McDannol, S.E.Frasher,•wilbur Dakan. Absent; Floyd-Blunt and F.E. Newman. Mr. Cerl'lLitchan presented a plan for codifying the Ordinances oP the City pf Caldwell. , Moved by Fresher, a econded by Bryant that the Mayor and Council accept the proposal U codify the Ordinances for $500 as presented by Mr. Sitcheq, also, the print- ing be given to thb Caldwell News- Ttibune at $2.50 per page, Motion carried. Mr. George Hammar, representing Citg Employees, appeared and petitioned for an increase in wages. The Mayor informed Mr. Hamner this matter would be taken under consideration. The Mayor appointed Mr. J. F. LaPond and Mrs. A. I. Myers on the LIBRA=. BOARD, Dr. V. Handford on the S�'PIMMaIG POOL BOARD and Dr. G. W. Montgomery as HEALTH PHYSICIAM, Moved by Dakgn, s econded by Mc5 nnel that these appointments be confirmed. Motion carried. Moved by Bryant, seconded by Frasher that the City Attorney be authorized to publish a- notice calling for bids on the abandoned bridge across Boise River at Curtis Park. Motion carried. This being the time date set for hearing protests against the proposed estimate 'of axpanditures of the City of Caldwell for the fiscal year beginning t he first day of May 1942. The saidestimate and to x levy being in excess of 10 mills for general pur- poses.
