May 30, 1975

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pasley.

The roll of the Council was called with the following members
present: Gamboa, Dakan, McCluskey, and Williams. Absent:
Carter and Banks.
(APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES)
It was MOVED by Gamboa, SECONDED by McCluskey that the Council
dispense with the approval of the minutes until the Regular
Meeting of June 3, 1975.
(AUTHORIZATION OF RELOCATION BENEFITS)
The Mayor stated that the purpose of the Special Meeting
was to authorize Bob Smith and Associates to offer relocation
benefits over and above appraisal prices of the property to
several people. The names, the appraisal price, and the
benefits requested were as follows: James Tibesar; appraisal
price was $18,000 and relocation benefits asked were $3500;
Nelson Leslie; appraisal price was $24,000 and relocation
benefits asked were $3900: Leonard Allen; appraisal price was
$28,000 and relocation benefits asked were $3800.
In addition, a letter was received from Mr. Ron Rainey
representing Shirley Haynes. There was no relocation benefits
involved here as she does not live there. The appraisal
price was $28,500 and she was offering the property to the
- City at $31,500. It was suggested that the City compromise
and offer her $30,000.
MOVED by McCluskey, SECONDED by Dakan that Bob Smith and
Associates be authorized to proceed to offer the relocation
benefits at the figures mentioned above.
MOTION CARRIED
(AUTHORIZE WARRANTS TO BE TAKEN TO CANYON ABSTRACT AND TITLE COMPANY)
The Mayor stated that there was one more motion necessary at
this time to continue the airport business. This was to
authorize the City to take a warrant over to Canyon Abstract
and Title Company for the four pieces of property discussed
previously at prices designated the minute they present their
deed to Mr. Gamboa for escrow. Councilwoman Williams -:and
Councilman Gamboa stated that the warrant should be registered
before giving it to the parties involved.
MOVED by Williams, SECONDED by Gamboa that the City be
authorized to give the warrant to Canyon Abstract and Title
Company and the warrant not be registered until Canyon Abstract
and Title Company delivers the warrant to the seller.
MOTION CARRIED
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at
12:04.
