Ana IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED, that A copy of the aboveastimate signed by the Mayor
and duly attested by the Clerk of the said City of Caldwell, shall be published in TUE
CALDW NEWS- TRIBUNE, a newspaper, printed and published to the City of Caldwell, and the
official newspaper of the City of Caldwell, once a week, to -wit: In the Saturday issue
for two (2) weeks.
A "yes and "no" vote was had thereon, with the following results, to -wit:
"YES ": Bryant, Dakon, Frashsr, Newman and M'�Dahnel.
"NO ": None.
"ABSENT AND NOT VOTING ": Blunt.
WHEREUPON, the Mayordeclared the motion carried and the Resolution duly adopted.
THEREUPON, Councilman Bryant presented the following preamble and Resolution and

A RESOLUTION CALLING A PUBLIC MEETING FOE. THE DAY OF mm"
1942, AT EIGHT O'CLOCK P.M. FOR THE PURPOSE OF GRANTING A PUBLIC HEARING, BEFORE TAE
APPVOPRIATION BILL PROVIDED FOR IN SECTIONS 49 -1716 AND 49 -1102 IDAHO CODE.ANNOTATED
ANA CHAPTER 17 OF TITLE 49 OF THE IDAHO CODE ANNOTATED, SHALL BE PASSED BY THE MAYOR AND
,ITY COUNCIL; A COPY OF VIIIICH SAID E STIMATE OF THE PROPOSED APPROPRIATION BILL IS FULLY
SET FORTH AT LENGTH UPON THE MINUTES OF THE RR ^ULAR I=ITING OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
HELD ON. THE 20TH DAY OF MAY, 1942; THE SAID LEVY FOR GM- RAL LESY PURPOSES BEING IN EXCESS
OF TEN MILLS.
WHEREAS, at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho,
held on the 20th., day of May., 1942, an estimate of the probable amount of money necessar
for all purposes to b e raised in the City of Caldwell, Idaho, during the fiscal year
beginning May 1, 1942, including principal and interest due on the bonded indebtedness and
sinking fund, itemizing and classifying the different objects and b ranches of a xpenditures
as near as may be, with a statement of the entire re of the City for the previous year
was submitted to said Mayor and City Council by the Finance Committee, and which said
estimate was entered at length upOn its minutes; and
WHEREAS, a motion was duly made, seconded and carried that proper resolution be
drawn fixing the time for a public hearing of protests against said proposed appropriation
bill, and giving due notice thereof;
NOW, THEREFORE, HE IT RESOLVED By the Mayor and City Council of the City of Cald-
well, Idaho:
Section 1. That the Mayor and City Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, have
determined that it will require a tax levy for general revenue purposes in excess of ten
mills to miss sufficient money for general purposes, as provided by law and as is more
fully shown by the a stimate of a xpenditures of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, for the fisca 1
yearbeginning on the lat. day of May, 1942 .
Section 11, That before the pass^ge of the said appropriation bill and before sa
levy be made, a public hearing be granted a=d that said public hearing is hereby c alled and
ordered-to be hold at the City Hall of said City at the hour of eight oIclock P. M., on
the 15th day of June, 1942, upon the said estimate and proposed appropriation bill,
Sectio n 111. That notice of the meeting of public hearing shallbe given by
at least two publications in the Saturday issue of The Caldwell News - Tribune, a daily news-
paper, printed and published in the City of Caldwell, Idaho, which said newspaper has, in
conformity with Chapter 154 of. the 1933 Session L of Idaho, ineach issue at the head
of the Editorial Column announced the day of the week on which legal notices required by
law or by Order of any Court of competent jurisdiction to be published weekly will be publi
e and which notice shall l,te in substantially the following form, to -wit;

The City Council and Mayor of the City of Caldwell, Canyon County, Idaho having
determined at a meeting duly and regularly called and held in the City of Caldwell, Idaho,
on the 2 0th day of May , 1942, that said City will require a tax levy for general
purposes in excess of ten mills to raise sufficient money for general purposes, as provides
by law, for the fiscal year beginning May 1, 1942, and as fully set out in the estimate of
expenditures of the City of Caldwell, Idaho for the fiscal year beginning May 1 1942, duly
adopted, passed and approved by said Mayor and Council at said meeting of May 20th. ,194;
and appearing in the minutes of said meeting, held on said date; and said Mayor and Council
having determined at said meeting that it will be necessary to pass and appropriation bill
appropriating in excess of ten mills for genera 1 purposes of said City for said fiscal

roposed appropriation bill to be held at the City Hall in the City of Caldwell, Canyon

The Regular Monthly Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Room of the
City H all, with the Mayor H.E. MoCluskey presiding,
On Roll Call the following Councilman answered present; Bryant, Dakan, Newman,
Fresher and McD Absent: Blunt.
The Minutes of May 4th., 11th., and 20th., were read and approvedas read.
Dr. E. A.Tugaw, City Most Inspector appeared'Ltefore the Council and gave a report
on the inspection of meat and Meat Markets.
- It was voted upon motion duly made and seconded, that due to inability to convey
irrigation water to property occupied by the First National Bank of Caldwell, Mrs. Abbie
Burnett, State Ri -way Garage and I.O.N. Service Station that the City supply said proper-
ties with water from its mains for irrigation purposes during the irrigation season at
regular minimum charge foe per motor per month plus an additional charge of fifty cents
per meter - during the irrigation season. Motion carried.
