Council met in regular session persuant to adjournment of May 13, 1929 with Enyor McConnal presiding, and Councilmen BO?.Lht4N, DICKENS, JOHNS, LEIGHTY AND SANDMEYER, PRESENT. ABSENT: NONE. J. B. Gowen and Frank D. Roberts, representing the Airport Commission and Jae. G. Smith, end others representing the Chamber of Commerce appeared before the Council asking that some action be taken regarding the drainage of Municipal Airport and Memorial Park, and stressing the importance of immediate action. It was voted on motion of Sandmeyer, seconded by Bollman, that a committee be km appointed to devise ways and means of financing such a drain to be constructed, and with power to not with regard to arrangeing for immediate construction. The i ayor appointed on said committee, Sandmeyer, Bollman and Leighty. It was voted on motion of Bollman, seconded by Leighty, that the action of the Mayor and Council at a meeting held March 22, 1929 at 8:00, P. M. whereby a resolution propheing to construct a Drain Ditch for the benefit of Iemorial Park and Caldwell Munioip Airport and let a contract to Ryberg, McHugh & Cowley for the cpnstruetion of same was approved; whereby the contract to Ryberg, McHugh & Cowley, be, and the same is hereby reseeinded. It was voted on motion of Dickens, seconded by Leighty, that Council adjourn to May 18, 1929, at 11:00, A. M. APPROVED: Clerx. LU OR. COUNCIL CHAMBERS, MAY 18, 1929, 11:00, A. 12. Council met in regular session persuant to adjournment of May 16, 1929, with Mayor MoOonnel presiding and Councilmen BOLLMAN, JOHNS, LEIGHTY AND SANDMEYER,•PRESENT. ASSENT: DICKENS. RESOLUTION NO. 1, BY BOLLMAN, was presented as followst "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCT- ION OF A DRAIN DITCH ALONG THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE CALD19ELL AIRPORT; THENCE WESTRELY AND THENCE SOUTHERLY TO THEIVEST END DRAIN". "WHEREAS, It is nesessary to construct a drain ditch along the South side of the Caldwell Airport and thence westerly and thence Southerly to the West and drain for the purpose of lowering the water table and giving drainage to Memorial Park and other lands lying within the limits of the City of Caldwell, Idaho. "NOW, TEEEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwel: Idaho:" "Section 1. That the Mayor of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, be and he hereby is authorised and instructed to enter into that certain contract with w. H. Robinson, dated the 18th day of May, 1929, for the digging and construction of said drain above mentioned on the terms and conditions act forth in amid contract." Motion was made by 8gndmeyer, seconded by Leighty, that Resolution No. 1 be approved. On the question as stated the Mayor directed the Clerk to call the roll with the following result: AYES: , BOLLMAN, JOHNS, LEIGHTY AND SANDMEYER. NAYES: NONE. ABSENT: DICKENS.
