Hollin,,sr-orth, presiding. On Roll Call -tire following C uncilmen answered present: EdC.r L. Oakes, F. D. umford, 71.E.Babcock, G. K. Fenrich, 71. S,Boynton, and Norvil T. Binds. rbsent: None, Mr. Bob Dawson appeared before the Mayor and Council on behalf of 1,1r. Jess Smith nd asked permission to build a machine shop on North Kimbell. This matter was referred o the Cite En ineer. Mr. W. ji. Redway and Air. J.B.Goren brought to the attention of the Mayor and ouncil the matter of repairing sidewalks and the removal of dead trees. The Mayor ap- ointed the following committee to look into this matter and report at the next meeting; auncilmen, Dakes and Hinds and the City Eni,�ineer. The Layor prey -nted Mr. E. L. Vassar with a croquet set and Dr. G. P1. Mont omery ith a golf bag from the City Employees. gN6 Mr. Vassar and Dr. Mont omery both made a nice speech of appreciation. Moved by Oakes, seconded by Boynton tjj1 ;t the City of Caldwell will not sponsor Olean Up Week for the next two years. Motion carried. A Report of the Building Permits issued was made by J.S. Maxey. Brooks, had purchased the property at tax sale from Canyon County, Idaho, for State and County taxes, and that b. reason thereof the local Improvement taxes against the said property are no longer a lien thereon under the rule of law that now obtained in the State of Idaho that property purchased of a County for general State and County taxes at tax sale frees the property of all Local Improvement District taxes. and sales, and all special assessments against the property. NO., THEREFORE, BE IT RLSOL "ED, That the said weed cutting tax against the said property for thgabove mentioned years in the above principal amounts for the several-years plus interest and penalties, be, and the same are, hereby cancelled and the Treasurer of the City of Caldwell, as the collector of all special improve.ent and special taxes of the City of Caldwell, be, and lie is hereby authorized and directed to c -:ncel upon the books the assessments, plus interest and penalties for each of the above years on the above de- scribed property, and to issue in suitavle form any certificates or instrument in writing necesssary to show that the said assessments and taxes have been cancelled in conformity herewith; and moved the adoption of said preamble and resolution, which motion was seconded by Mumford; s Yea and Nay vote was had thereon with the following result: Yea: Oakes, Mumford, Boynton, Fenrich, Babcock and Hinds.
