Council met in regular session persuant to adjournment of May 13, 1929 with Mayor MoOonnel presiding, and Councilmen B07J7.14N, DICKENS, JOHNS, LEIGHTY AND SANDMEYER, PRESENT. ABSENT: NONE. J. B. Gowen and Frank D. Roberts, representing the Airport Commission and Jae. G. Smith, and others representing the Chamber of Commerce appeared before the Council asking that some action be taken regarding the drainage of Municipal Airport and Memorial Park, and stressing the importance of immediate action. It was voted on motion of Sandmeyer, seconded by Bollmen, that a committee be iff appointed to devise ways and means of finanoing such a drain to be constructed, and with power to not with regard to arrangeing for immediate construction. The IMayor appointed on said committee, Sandmeyer, Bollmon and Leighty. It was voted on motion of Bollman, seconded by Leighty, that the action of the Mayor and Council at a meeting held parch 22, 1929 at 8:00, P. M. whereby a resolution propbsing to construct a Drain Ditch for the benefit of ;lemorial Park and Caldwell Munieip Airport and let a contract to Ryberg, McHugh & Cowley for the epnstruction of same was approved; whereby the contract to Ryberg, McHugh & Cowley, be, and the same is hereby reaceinded. It was voted on motion of Dickens, seconded by Leighty, that Council adjourn to May 18, 1929, at 11:00, A. .Q. APPROVED: Cle MAYOR. COUNCIL CHAMBERS, MAY 18, 1929, 11:00, A. M. Council met in regular session persuant to adjournment of May 18, 1929, with Mayor McConnel presiding and Councilmen BOLLUAN, JOHNS, LEIGHTY AND SANDMEYER,-PRESENT. ABSENT: DICKENS. RESOLUTION NO. 1, BY BOLLMAN, was presented as follows: "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCT. ION OF A DRAIN DITCH ALONG THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE CALDWELL AIRPORT; THENCE WESTRELY AND THENCE SOUTHERLY TO THE'WEST END DRAIN ". "WHEREAS, It is necessary to construct a drain ditch along the South side of the Caldwell Airport and thenoe Westerly and thence Southerly to the West end drain for the purpose of lowering the water table and giving drainage to Memorial Park and other lands lying within the limits of the City of Caldwell, Idaho. "NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell Idaho:" "Section 1. That the Mayor of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, be and he hereby is authorized and instructed to enter into that certain contract with =a. H. Robinson, dated the 18th day of May, 1929, for the digging and construction of said drain above mentioned on the terms and conditions set forth in said contract." Motion was made by Sgndmeyer, seconded by Leighty, that Resolution No. 1 be approved. On the question so stated the Mayor directed the Clerk to call the roll with the following result.
