Council meet 'in regular session, persuant to adjgurnment, May 16, 1927 at 8 :00 P. M. with Mayor DanDnp presiding, Councilman Davis, Dutton, Hoffman, Jackson, MoConnel and Mumford present. The Mayor appointed the following committees, the first named to serve as chairman: Finance Committee, Mumford and Hoffman. Streets, Sprinkling and Park Committee, yavis and Mogonnel. demetery dommittee, $atton and Jackson. City Hall Committee, Jackson and Dutton. Fire Committee, .Hoffman and McOonnal. Irrigation, Drainage and Plater Works, M000nnel and Davis. The application of J. Neil & So. for Pool Hall License was read, and it was voted on motion of Hoffman, seconded by Davis that the license application be laid on the table. BILL NO. 1, entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 421, entitled ' AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 13 OF ORDINANCE NO376, ENTITLED ALAN ORDINANC AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 111, ENTITLED " 'AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO 93 MLATING TO LICENSES AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF" ' "; RELATING TO TENT SH OR OTHER SHOVIS NOT HEREIN MENTIONED, AND PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSE THEREOF ". BE. ORDAINED By the Mayor and jounoil of the Qity of jaldwell, Idaho: Section 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 421 of the City of Oeldwell, Idaho, passed and approved on the 7th day of June, 1925, be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows: "That Section 13 of Ordinance No/ 376 of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, passed and approved on the 6th day of Nov. 1922, be, and the same is hereby, amended to read as follows: 'Section 13. The keeper or proprietor of any kind of tent show, open air show, or other show not here- in mentioned, except such as are exempted by statute and except those given in opera houses or hall, shall pay a license to carry on such business the sam of Twenty - five Dollars ($25.00) per day of Fifty ]Dollars ($60.00) per weak.'" Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict With this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in force and take effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication. Bill No. 1 by Mumford was read for the first time, and on motion by Mumford, seconded by Hoffman, that the rules requiring the reading of a bill on three separate days be suspended, and Bill No. l be read the second time by title and the third time in full, and placed on its final passage. The Mayor directed the Clerk to call the roll on the aforesaid motion with the following results: AYES: Davis, Dutton, Hoffman, Jackson, McOonnel and Mumford. NAYES: None. Bill No. I was read the second time by title and the third time in full section by section, and on the question as put by the Mayor, Shall Bill No. 1 pass? the Glerk was directed to call the roll with the following results: AYES: DAVIS, DUTTON, HOFFMAN, JACKSON, MOCONNEL AND MUMPORD. NAYES: NONE. 3 1 I] 3 'f:i 3�- 9 The Mayor declared that Bill No. 1 had passed and become Ordinance No. 437, and approved the same in open session of the Council, and directed the Uark to have same published in the Caldwell News, of daldwell, Idaho, the official newspa -ber of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, and further to have same entered on the journal of Ordinances. The Mayor appointed Chas. Jarvis as Policeman. It was voted on motion of Modonnel, seconded by Mumford that the appointment of dhas. Jarvis as Policeman be confirmed. Fire Chief, Gillett called the attention of the Council to the Oity'e need of an additional 800 ft. of fire hose, and the same was referred to the Fire Committee and the Fire Chief with power to not. The matter of Street Lighting was called to the attention of the Council by MoQonnel, and after some discussion was referred to the City Improvement Committee to investigate.
